Rei had abandoned the journal at home as soon as she had some clue where to find Lelouch. She couldn't think where else she might find him, with the mention of needles by the men in the background. The clinic was the most obvious choice ( ... )

Because he clearly isn't suffering enough... Or, I'm just evil. One of the two. blind_bomber September 1 2009, 06:46:58 UTC
Similarly, Iggy's journal was lying on the floor of his room - probably amidst shards of glass - as he tore through (or, above, more accurately) the streets. He had always refrained from flying here, for the most part, half because of the lingering threat of Sky Snakes, half because it just drew too much attention. But none of that seemed to matter now. He had to get to the clinic. He had to find Nunnally.

He burst through the doors, frantically flapping his wings to stop himself, and made a hasty, clumsy landing. But even as he stumbled across the floor, dripping blood from dozens of superficial lacerations, he was already yelling at the top of his lungs.

"Nunnally! Nunnally! He put up more of a fight than Lelouch had - not that he really knew any of that - a life spent on the run leaving him with the instincts to shake off the first few doctors, to keep moving. He rebounded off more than one wall, knocked carts and trays over with ear-splitting clatters, but kept moving, even if he didn't know where he was going at all ( ... )

You're as bad a muse-torturer as I am. If not worse. geasszero September 1 2009, 15:33:51 UTC
Somehow, even drugged, Lelouch found Rei's words cut through the haze in his mind more clearly than any of the shouts of the orderlies or pleas of the doctors had. Yes, of course, she was right. It wasn't smart. Acting like this made him miss important details. Left him vulnerable. Had nearly gotten him killed before. Nearly gotten Kallen killed. Did get Rolo killed.

For a moment, he seemed to calm, and he managed to look up at her, violet eyes unfocused.

Hino Rei. She was here. Why? She had known Nunnally, but they had never seemed close. Ah, of course. She was his... friend. But she shouldn't be here. Not for this. In fact, she shouldn't be his friend at all. All he had ever done, it now seemed, was hurt his friends. Euphie, Shirley, Rolo... all dead. And how much had Rivalz, Milly, and Nina suffered? How much had Kallen, and C.C., and Suzaku suffered? How much had Nunnally suffered? For despite his attempts to create a kinder world, he only seemed to rain death and ruin on the world around him. The best he could do was gamble ( ... )

Rei's eyes widened as the winged boy was wrestled into the room, and she gripped the edge of Lelouch's bed. Why were boys so brash and stupid!? She didn't even know this person, and he seemed to be just as broken as Lelouch over Nunnally's disappearance.

Then there was a sickening crack, and Rei knew that sound all too well. She winced visibly and immediately jumped to her feet, hurrying over to the side of the other bed to stand behind the two orderlies.

"Now stop it!" She yelled, glaring at the boy, expression quite stern. "Acting like this is only hurting you, so calm down! And you two!" She rounded on the orderlies. "You're supposed to be helping people! Manhandling them to the point of injury sure as heck isn't helpful either!"

Iggy gritted his teeth against the pain and rolled over as the orderlies scuttled wisely out of the room. One wing fanned at the air, though in odd, jerking motions as Iggy took short, gasping breaths - the other sagged crookedly, motionless.

"Easy for you to say," he groaned out bitterly, pressing his forehead to the...bed? beneath him. It was soft, and the sheets were cool, that's all that mattered at the moment. And it served to conceal the fact that there were tears pooling in his blind eyes. He rubbed them away fiercely against the sheets.

"Who the hell are you, anyway?" he bit out, finding and catching hold of anger - it burned bright enough to shunt the sorrow and pain away for the moment. "And what the hell are you doing here?" He shook his head angrily, but didn't move to get up - he was pretty sure he couldn't.

"Doesn't matter," he muttered under his breath. "It doesn't matter who you are, or what's going on - Nunnally's not gone. She's not. I'm going to find her."
