Tim bounded along the low rooftops bordering the main square, keeping a sharp eye out in all directions and generally giving his best impression of a street urchin with no remarkable skills. A cow? A cow. Maybe he shouldn't be as surprised as he really was. A cow that knows kung fu!

Well, at least he shouldn't be hard to find. If 'Haru had turned out to be Kisa-sized then they'd have a problem. And speaking of the little girltiger, he was watching at least as much for ginger-orange hair as he was for... well, a cow. Of some description. White hair? Fur. Fuzz. And probably drunk off of its cow-butt.

It was a common occurrence for the cursed teenager to wander off without a destination. Hatsuharu was well known in the large Sohma family for disappearing for days though it was usually within the family compound or surrounding community. Rivelata was not only foreign to the newly arrived Sohma, but much larger.

The younger Sohma found herself extremely worried as she ran out of their home to search for her brotherly figure. Kisa had to take extra care as she wove through the crowd in the marketplace, hoping to avoid any collisions with the male sex in case it triggered a transformation.

"Haru? HARU?" She called out, hoping he could hear her.

"Kisa!"

Obviously not the voice she was hoping for, but no way was Stevie going to leave his friend lost in a crowd head and shoulders taller than her. She was shying away from people - agoraphobia? No, of course not, it was the curse, the last thing they needed was a tiger cub underfeet. He jumped down a few stacked crates and wove himself, dodging and ducking toward the girl. "C'mon, let's get outta the traffic line!"

Hatsuharu tottered down the middle of a cobbled street, blinking big, liquid eyes in an effort to clear the weird fuzziness of his vision. He thought he might be constantly be going crosseyed too. But he wasn't sure. It was always harder to see things in cow form, but this was worse.

Why did he feel so weird?

Hatsuharu eventually tottered into the marketplace and clopped his way across it, making for the beach with some cowish notion of water = grass. Nevermind that it was saltwater. He wasn't exactly in possession of all his faculties at the moment. He was running on instinct, and fuzzy, alcohol affected instinct at that.

"Stevie-san!" Instinct saw her reach for Tim's hand, placing her trust in her friend as she held on tightly. Large crowds frightened even the bravest of Sohmas since their curse was so socially damning.

"Haru's probably looking for water or grass to settle his stomach." Kisa suggested, still looking around her. "But there aren't any fields near here at all. He's probably leaving the main town!"

Stevie closed his hand around hers and led her unerringly through the crowd. "And any water he finds will just make it worse," he finished, scowling. The boy absolutely wasn't above raising his other arm crosswise to drive their way across the flow, and within seconds they were back at the edge.

He let go long enough to hop up the next haphazard pile of crates - chickens, from the way they squawked when he did - and reach back a hand. "We can see better from above. C'mon!"

When he saw the ocean, Hatsuharu's bovine eyes went wide and shiny. He suddenly realised he was very, very hot, and all that water seemed just the ticket. On his way across the dunes, he found various little sprigs of grass, which he tore at with big, flat teeth, pausing to munch and swallow before tottering on a few steps.

The path his hooves left in the sand wove in wide sweeping S shapes, and even a couple of figure eights where he'd gotten really turned and begun to head back towards town before he realised what had happened. But it did head in the general direction of the ocean.
