Johnny had rather been enjoying his late-night (early morning? he couldn't tell and didn't care) stroll. Unfortunately, here in Rivelata, Johnny didn't have his headphones and CD player, so he was without the luxury of music to block out potential distractions. Therefore, when Batman's voice rang out in the dark and called the killer's name, he turned around immediately.

"Who's there?" he asked, gritting his teeth, and pointing a knife into the shadows. He was not in the mood for an outright attack - but if this person didn't have a good reason for disturbing him, there would probably be some bloodshed.

"Clark Kent. The man who wanted to speak to you about the rescue effort."

Hands held loosely at his sides, though ready to retrieve any number of items or weapons from his belt, Bruce stepped out the shadows, icy blue gaze gauging Johnny, even as he stayed at a respectful distance.

"Have you come to a decision?"

Johnny lowered his knife. So this was the guy, huh? Well, he hadn't done anything particularily offensive, and he probably wasn't that bad. Johnny would refrain from stabbing him this time.

"Look, all I know is I want to do something fucking productive for once," he told the man, "And I hate the Queen. Just let me help in some way. I'm sure that I'd be good for something."

((OOC: When is the rescue mission going to actually take place? I'll be on hiatus soon... but Nny can always work behind the scenes, or from 'home', if he does join the cause.))

((OOC: It's, erm... Kinda starting now-ish.))

Bruce's tone and stance remained neutral, neither artificially friendly, nor purposefully intimidating.

"I understand the sentiment, Johnny. Believe me, I do. But I need your word that you won't kill anyone. I know you're good at it. I know you want to help. But killing will only make things worse. If you can't promise me that, though, there are other things you can do. Protecting your friends here. Comforting them. I know it isn't easy for you to hold back, Johnny, but, if you're going to go on the rescue mission, you'll need to."
