Johnny had rather been enjoying his late-night (early morning? he couldn't tell and didn't care) stroll. Unfortunately, here in Rivelata, Johnny didn't have his headphones and CD player, so he was without the luxury of music to block out potential distractions. Therefore, when Batman's voice rang out in the dark and called the killer's name, he turned around immediately.

"Who's there?" he asked, gritting his teeth, and pointing a knife into the shadows. He was not in the mood for an outright attack - but if this person didn't have a good reason for disturbing him, there would probably be some bloodshed.

"Clark Kent. The man who wanted to speak to you about the rescue effort."

Hands held loosely at his sides, though ready to retrieve any number of items or weapons from his belt, Bruce stepped out the shadows, icy blue gaze gauging Johnny, even as he stayed at a respectful distance.

"Have you come to a decision?"

Johnny lowered his knife. So this was the guy, huh? Well, he hadn't done anything particularily offensive, and he probably wasn't that bad. Johnny would refrain from stabbing him this time.

"Look, all I know is I want to do something fucking productive for once," he told the man, "And I hate the Queen. Just let me help in some way. I'm sure that I'd be good for something."

((OOC: When is the rescue mission going to actually take place? I'll be on hiatus soon... but Nny can always work behind the scenes, or from 'home', if he does join the cause.))

((OOC: It's, erm... Kinda starting now-ish.))

Bruce's tone and stance remained neutral, neither artificially friendly, nor purposefully intimidating.

"I understand the sentiment, Johnny. Believe me, I do. But I need your word that you won't kill anyone. I know you're good at it. I know you want to help. But killing will only make things worse. If you can't promise me that, though, there are other things you can do. Protecting your friends here. Comforting them. I know it isn't easy for you to hold back, Johnny, but, if you're going to go on the rescue mission, you'll need to."

((Yeah, I'll be needing to GTFO in like 3 days, for quite a while - close to 2 weeks anyway - so maybe it's best I don't get involved after all? :S))

Johnny steeled himself to remain calm. If he reacted negatively and attacked this guy, what the hell would happen? He was not used to logical thinking, and was starting to really want to raise his knife again. It reminded him of the time he asked himself if you could kill the Devil. Like last time, he refrained, and spoke, as calmly as he could:

"Well, I don't know about that. I take it you don't need my abilities," he said, his tone having a slight hiss to it, "and I'm not particularily good at 'comfort' either. I don't know about 'protecting'. I usually do things quite the opposite." He paused.

"I guess my final answer is a no," he said, "I can see that I'm not wanted! But if you have any kind of job for me..." He trailed off, thinking, I just want to do something productive. Help.

((OOC: Sorry! >_< Maybe next time, since, well, I'm sure this place will still be in revolutionary uproar when you get back?))

"We need all the help we can get, Johnny... But there are certain prices we're not willing to pay to get that help."

Bruce continued to watch Johnny levelly.

"Then, if you want to, you could learn.

"Still, if that dissatisfies you... You might want to see what you can do to help Zach Bosch more directly in his efforts. But, then, you know your abilities and inclinations better than I do, Johnny. Whatever you do choose to do, though... Good luck."
