It was such a nice day out. Fresh air, blue ocean, the sound of crashing wav--

Or the sound of one really loud, obnoxious boy.

So much for relaxing.

She turned around and stared at him. While most would probably turn and leave at this point, Rico stood and kept her ground. Her eyes did not move.

Upon noticing that he now had an audience, Black Star stared right back from his perch, pointing at her with all the tact of a four year old. She didn't look familiar but she at least she seemed to know where she was going. And any audience was a good audience, if you asked him.

"Hey, girl!" he shouted, jumping down to the ground and continuing to stare at her. "You don't have to be so quiet--a big star like me still'll talk to people! So, who're you? You from Shibusen? Or this weirdo beach?"

Annoyed and angered? That didn't seem to fit the emotion bubbling up inside Maka, who was still avoiding Soul over the recent events that had developed in the last week. Even if it meant wandering around the city alone(which wasn't all that great but Maka did prefer it if it meant she didn't have to deal with him right now).

Which was exactly what Maka was doing. Getting out of that house was good for her; she got a chance to clear her mind and simply wander the city with nothing but her thoughts. She contemplated what this island was doing to everyone; to herself, Tsubaki, Black Star and Chrona. Professor Stein, out of all of them, seemed to be the one who was immune to it all.

She sighed, stepping up to the cement steps that led down to the sand of the beach as she tilted her head to the side and twisted her lips in thought. "What a mes--" Suddenly her muttered words were cut off by a familiarly obnoxious YA-HOO in the distance. Maka froze at the last step and whipped her head around in the direction she'd heard the voice.

It was fairly easy to stay back in the crowd and just watch Maka. Plus, with how angry she was with him (and vice versa, I mean, it was her fault she wouldn't listen, after all) it wasn't going to be easy to just walk beside her. But Rivelata was a dangerous place, and even angry, Soul wasn't going to let her walk alone and disappear on him like other people had.

But when she broke off-

He stopped. She was yelling at- Holy shit. Who cared if Maka realized Soul had been following her when she thought she was alone? Black Star was here. Back? Something. He made a split second decision, technically, one that required little thought; he started walking out to the beach, calmly, coolly. At least until he got closer, maybe. There was no mistaking the blue-haired ninja, even at a distance.

If you did, quite clearly, you were blind.

Rico heard the voice of another girl, but did not turn her eyes away from the boy. Higher grounds were strategically better than setting oneself on the same level as another. Why did he jump down just to approach her? Were people this ready to trust? Nonetheless, she strengthened her grip on her violin case, and recalled that she still had a handgun underneath her coat. Don't take chances, she reminded herself.

"Italy," she replied curtly. The more boys she met, the more she was convinced that they were all a bunch of blabbermouths.

Black Star turned around when he heard his name-someone had recognized him, which was good, and he recognized them, which made it even better. If Maka and Soul were here, that meant the Tsubaki and any others were probably nearby; they simply had to catch up. That made sense. Nothing else might, but he really didn’t care about that, so it didn’t matter.

“Oi! Soul! Maka! Over here!” Black Star waved arms around, as if his shouting didn’t give his position away well enough. “Are we in Italy?” he asked, looking back to the girl. He couldn’t help but think that she was kind of weird; awfully nervous, at the very least. Oh, well! Guess some people just couldn’t handle a great guy like me very well.

[ooc: Duly noted; that makes a lot of sense, thanks! And don’t worry, you’re not rambling. I’m new at this, I’ll happily listen to any tips you’ve got. :D]
