Riku, although he didn't dare show it, was comforted by he nightly ritual of Nise in his bed. He had grudgingly allowed it at first--but after a while, it was... necessary. Nise really needed him right now. He wouldn't abandon him, definitely not when he needed him the most. It was wrong. So every night, they cuddled together in the same bed. Nise had a habit of clinging to him, and Riku would hug him back. He needed security. They both needed security, really ( ... )

He felt Riku rouse, and in return opened his eyes to meet Riku's. Aqua eyes, just the same as his. Identical down to the very cell. He didn't mind this, not at all. In fact, he felt ... flattered, in a way. Riku and he were carbon prints (or he of Riku) but when he looked at the other, he didn't see himself. He saw another person, he saw someone he adored. He suddenly felt all this affection bubble up inside him, and he didn't think he could just not do anything about it. He wanted to show Riku... how much he was important. How much he needed him. And how happy he felt to have Riku here, and deal with him. They hadn't spoken about the death, or their nightmares, they really didn't need to. Riku's aloofness and Nise's paranoia spoke more than words could express; just as they really couldn't express the fondness he had for the other ( ... )

A gentle smile pushed its way onto Riku's face when he stared into Nise's eyes. It was foreign--and there were butterflies, or dragonflies, or even fireflies buzzing in his stomach. Why was he just... letting himself lay there? Nise made the first move--he always did, Riku noticed--by pulling him even closer, and... his heart beat wildly in his chest. His cheeks started to flush--cheeks, neck, ears. Riku let his arms wrap around Nise's shoulders, and he closed his eyes, gently breathing against his ear.

"... hey." he murmured, voice barely above a whisper. Compassion, gentleness and deep devotion was thinly veiled behind his sleepy tones. You woke up. You should be getting your rest. It was unspoken, as Riku's words always were. Brushing his hand through Nise's hair, he let the other cup his cheek.

Nise's lips rubbed against Riku's shoulders, soft and warm and loving in their intentions. Riku's breath made him feel hot all over too, hotter than normal since Riku was flushing as well. The wild beating of his original's heart felt so comforting and alive - it made him a little excited, feet sliding between Riku's and toes curling against his feet.

"I'm not really sleepy now." Nise replied, knowing what Riku had meant, and leaned against against his palm. "Did I wake you?" it was a soft murmur, but still carried a worried tone - he knew Riku didn't sleep much as well and was starting to feel bad he had woken him up. "Sorry, I didn't mean to... You looked so... so... good in your sleep." And by good he meant handsome, which made him flush and avert his eyes. He really didn't know what was up with all these feelings but he wasn't complaining. Nise was far too enamored and perplexed with the situation to really worry why.

The shoulder Nise was against was quickly relaxing under his gentle touch. His feet closed against Nise's, ankles rubbing against his for a few moments. He gently shook his head to as he spoke, and smiled, leaning forwards so their noses touched.

"It's okay," he murmured, the pink slowly darkening to a of red tinge. His thumb stroked Nise's cheek, smiling. He looked good in his sleep? "I don't mind, if it's you." As soon as the words left his mouth, Riku found his smile widening almost dorkily, and he glanced away, embarrassed. Part of him was sincerely confused, still drowsy--there was some sort of hidden passion behind his words, one that hadn't shown itself before. Why did it come all of a sudden--but then, the other part of him was just happy. Love. Riku had craved this for so long, and to think that it had always been right in front of him...
