It had worked. It had actually worked. That Edensphere world was good for something after all.
In a way, it was a shame it had to be Misa. After all, sometimes, a person needed assistance. But after learning that everyone had the name "Rembrandt Lloyd" above their heads (which produced strange aftershocks upon utterance), she proved to be less than helpful.
It was an experiment. Tucked away in Light's pant pocket was a small scrap of paper that read "Amane Misa. Heads from Edensphere back to Rivelata and commits suicide." She hadn't made it that far. On the bridge, she had apparently fallen down dead. Perhaps the magic-dampening powers of Rivelata had turned a complicated command into a simple heart attack.
He reached the Clinic and looked for Sheena. He'd have to examine the body, to make sure it had really worked.

At the crack of the entry-way doors, Sheena had instinctively turned to check who was coming and going. Otherwise, her gaze couldn't be broken from the girl that lay on the clinic bed in front of her.
Frankly, she was tired of thinking. There was too much to take into consideration; too much left unknown. The entire situation left a bad taste in Sheena's mouth.
At the latest entry of the doors stood a young man with thick bangs. He seemed out of breath - it had to be him.
As he looked in her direction, she stood to indicate where Misa was located.

Hazel eyes followed the young man as he approached Misa's bedside. He looked utterly destroyed. Sheena felt her heart sink as he spoke, the look on his face was hard to take in. The two must have been close. Maybe this Light had even been Misa's lover.
"It isn't much consolation, but..." She spoke as she lightly placed a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry."

"I didn't want to believe it," he said, swallowing. "I just... I just..."
It appeared that the distraught young man was at a loss for words.

Light clenched both of his fists. "I was an idiot to think she'd be safe alone."
