She remained silent as he spoke; and even as he stopped. Her eyes remained on the lifeless girl, laying in the bed below.
"No. This sort of thing should never be something to expect. It's not right that she couldn't...She should have been able to go alone without this happening."
She was fumbling words again. She always did this when emotions got the best of her.

"After all of the horrible things that have happened here, I just... I should have known better." This was typical of someone who had just lost a loved one. Should've, would've, could've...
"Could you please... for a moment?" His head was bowed, hair falling into his eyes. "So she and I can be alone?"
Sheena watched calmly as Light came out of the room, his eyes reddened and sullen. She realized how tired he looked, as there was a slight discoloration under his eyes. He must have been in so much pain...
"No, not at all." She consoled. "You shouldn't have to go through this at all."
There wasn't much else she could do. She and Light were practically strangers, after all, but she felt the need to do more. It irked her.

"You didn't have to go to so much trouble," he insisted. Glancing back at the room, he shrugged a little helplessly. "Most people wouldn't help a stranger - although I suppose you knew Misa? Were you two friends?
"Forgive me, I admit I didn't pay attention to the people she spent time around. Misa is... was such a social butterfly, it seemed like it was always changing." Light appeared to forcefully remind himself of the tense change.

With that, the dark-haired young woman turned and headed for the doorway, a bad taste left in her mouth.
