they haven't gotten to hang out so HERE HAVE AN UZUKI promotionplz December 31 2008, 21:47:16 UTC
Despite the fact that she'd been working her ass off, Uzuki couldn't sleep. Exhaustion seemed to have no bearing on insomnia. Not wanting to keep anyone else in the apartment up, she decided to just go for a walk - making sure her beloved gun was safe in the little holster Shiki had added to her scarf, just in case.

She had just entered the marketplace when she felt a twinge of something. Uzuki froze. There was a hum of familiar energy pulsing in the air. "What the..." she muttered, closing her eyes and trying to locate the source of the resonance.

There - a few streets away, the nucleus of whatever this energy was. Uzuki quietly made her way through the empty marketplace to where a figure stood, facing the wall. She recognized him immediately. The coffee guy? "It's a little late for you to out here, isn't it?"

Hanekoma turned as he sensed a vaguely familiar presence, and grinning he turned to wave to the familiar woman approaching down the darkened street.

"Why hello there sister! I've actually found this is the perfect time for indulging the old muse, I'm less likely to get in people's way now. Plus for some reason, my canvas of choice runs the chance of drawing complaints from the local authorities if they catch me in the act. Now, I could ask the same question, what's a nice girl like you doing out this late?"

Hanekoma's tone was joking, suggesting that while he knew well Uzuki was not exactly a nice girl, he didn't consider that a mark against her. While their previous encounter had not exactly been friendly, Mr. H wasn't really one to hold a grudge. The young Reaper seemed to have grown a lot since then anyway, and he had no problem burying the hatchet.

HIATUSFAIL -AND- HTMLFAIL, WAY TO GO EGGO. promotionplz January 2 2009, 05:09:34 UTC
Uzuki rolled her eyes at him. "I couldn't sleep. Thought I'd go for a walk." She neglected to mention that said insomnia was probably due to the lack of a certain redhead. She hadn't seen him in a few days; would it kill him to at least let her know he was safe?

His muse...? She looked over what he'd painted so far. The swirls of bright color felt like...

Like home. Like Shibuya and those oh-so-familiar threads of energy, of Music, that wove their net through the streets.

And then it hit her. "Oh my god, you're CAT," she blurted out, then clapped a hand over her mouth. He had to be - even a Shibuya native who wasn't a total CAT addict like Nekkun knew his art on sight. And if the style wasn't enough to tip her off, the faint but detectable vibe emanating from the mural certainly was.

Hanekoma stroked his chin as he looked at her. His expression suggested he didn't think this was simply a case of insomnia, even if he couldn't know the exact cause. "Well, I can see how recent events have weighed heavily on your mind. A walk is one excellent way to clear it." Hanekoma's personal philosophy was to live in the moment, but even he was not entirely immune to the weight of life's dilemmas. He just chose to only dwell on the problems he could improve upon, to try and keep from becoming trapped by the past or the future ( ... )

After Uzuki, maybe? If the offer's still open smokeandwires January 10 2009, 19:02:34 UTC
When the world went crazy around you daily, it was easy to become desensitized. Aya had been gone for weeks, long enough for Youji's shoulder to heal from the fight with Schwarz, but the former detective was still restless.

They shouldn't have given up so easily. Who knew what those creeps were doing with Abyssinian right now, and Weiss was just sitting around twiddling their thumbs.

Youji was broken out of his thoughts when he caught a string of bright colors out of the corner of his eye. He stared at the work-in-progress for what seemed like forever, trying to make sense of it. At first, it appeared to be an abstract, and then it drifted towards another scene.

How did someone do that?

Hanekoma had returned to his work, painting away diligently, when suddenly he felt another presence approaching him. It seemed the middle of the night was an excellent chance to meet restless souls.

Finishing up the section he had been working on, Hanekoma slowed to a stop, before turning to face his visitor. "Why hello there. Nice night for a stroll isn't it?"

Hanekoma could tell this man had a lot on his mind, and if there was one thing the Producer loved to do, it was try and assist others with their problems.

"Yeah," Youji said, lighting up his cigarette before looking back at the painting. The colors almost danced on the wall.

"Amazing, with how many murderers and crazies around here, you can still walk pretty safely at night." He left out the part that he was one of those said murderers.

Hanekoma chuckled and said, "The funny thing about crazies, is they usually wait until you least expect it to do something."

Hanekoma left out he'd probably be considered one of those crazies.
