Nodding to the Queen for approval, Chancellor Nacitah rose and spoke first to Jade before continuing. "The Queen and I have been speaking at length recently and we believe the time has come for that to change, Mr. Curtiss."

She took a deep breath and tried to put her pride aside. "It has been decided that the Council should take a more active role in the affairs it was intended. That perhaps..." She sighed, "Perhaps I was not very clear on what would be expected... that past choices were... rather poor ones. As it stands, the ideals that the Council was created for have not been addressed. Were that the case, perhaps that..." She sighed again, "Display in the marketplace would not have occurred ( ... )

He had the sense to deny that offer;
Even if testifiers were speakers,
And Hamlet was a good one, in his world,
He had the feeling that the speakers here
Would need a more succinct, accurate way
To deliver the messages they had.

"Were I not often told that my speech forms
Were too much filled with art and less meaning
Than would be necessary for something
Of this importance, then I would accept,"
The Prince of Denmark said, taking his seat.
There were other positions, he was sure,
Where he would benefit them better than
With lengthy speeches at every trial.

Conrad was listened to the different speeches, something was amiss in their deliberations. What he had seen in the past weeks was that this country had an army and a council beside the queen but where was the police force?

In Shin Makoku they had beside the usual army a simple police force, formed from retired soldiers or young officers which aren´t out of school yet.

It had helped to get the crime rate under control without the use of the military.
He touched for a brief moment Yuuri´s shoulder before he raised his arm, asking for permission to speak.

The Chancellor was growing impatient that no one else seemed willing or able to speak when Conrad rose his hand.

Suddenly a flutter of hope rose in her. "Yes sir - Mr. Weller, I believe. Please, please - address the council with your concerns. I am vaguely familiar with them."

Last to arrive was Yozak, escorted by a guard and looking rather frumpy before he caught sight of Yuuri and Conrad. Silently, he walked over to the wall behind Conrad, ready to chime in if necessary.

If either Yuuri or Conrad looked back, he'd be sure to give them a thumbs-up and a wink.

Go get em, Taichou.
