Hisoka managed to stand himself up the rest of the way, and even to replace the Nen barriers. He was pleased for even just that much control over his power, slight as it was. It was certainly useful at a time like this.

Before removing his shirt though, his gaze slid again towards Illumi. He appraised the other man carefully, considering him and his potential knowledge. Finally he nodded. The Zaoldycks were well trained.

"I suppose you're no Machi," he said with a mock sigh, "But you'll do."

He pulled the shirt carefully off, taking the various decorations with it, and tossed it into a ragged, stained heap. The skin below bore not many marks, but those it had were deep and clean. Yuuko's iron fans -- she'd wielded them really rather well.

Hisoka was, he had to admit, pleased to see Illumi using his shirt as bandages. It meant the man wouldn't ask Hisoka to sacrifice his shirt. Hisoka was rather found of his outfit, and he would hate to have to destroy it. More than the fight had already done, at least.

He closed his eyes, turned his face towards the ocean that he'd become so well-acquainted with these past few weeks. He held still for Illumi's ministrations, taking care to pay some sort of attention to them. It would be useful to know the man's methods, should he ever need them himself.

"You'll have to fix my shirt, as well," he decided, eyes still closed. "It's not in very good shape either, I'm afraid."

Soft purple silk darkened as Illumi used the subtle sting of salt water to clean away the dirt from bloodied wounds. His fingers trembled slightly as they moved against Hisoka's body, dragging wet cloth, and then wrapping torn pieces of fabric around the other man's body as make-shift bandages. He'd never touched anyone like this before. For all the varying sorts of strange Hisoka make him feel, he'd never felt this awkward before ( ... )

Hisoka had noticed. Of course he'd noticed. Illumi, usually unshakable (and he knew, he'd tried) and emotionless, was not currently displaying either of those characteristics. But Hisoka kept the smile to himself. He couldn't afford to annoy Illumi any more than usual right now. It was highly beneficial to keep the man around for the next short while. He wasn't in any sort of shape to fight anyone that decided Hisoka needed some punishment right now, after all.

He would have to play with that later, though.

Hisoka bent, carefully, to retrieve his shirt. It was ragged, but it would do for now. It was certainly better than walking around the city without it, in any case.

He moved a few steps to the water's edge, carefully leaning over the rise the fabric out in the water. He was content when most of the bloodstains had washed out with the waves, and straightened again.

"Come to my house," he offered with a smile. He could always start playing a little sooner than later. "I'm sure my roommates wouldn't mind another body."
