It was a pleasant evening, at least for the Corinthian. Despite the on-and-off drizzle and rain making pickings sparse over the past few days for him, he had managed to successfully hunt down not just one target, but two, and, for now, felt quite pleasantly sated. It really was such a very beautiful night out. As he strolled along under the darkness and the occasional moonbeam that found itself peeking through the cloud cover, he smiled to himself. He had been here for about three weeks now, and though he still hadn't regained any of his powers yet, the populace was keeping him entertained, and he was positive if all it took was time to regain his powers, then he would have his back sooner or later as long as he was diligent. Perhaps with so much excess energy from eating so heartily tonight, he might even be able to slip into the dream world for a while ( ... )

Natalia had gotten a message from Youji earlier that day, and she wasn't sure what to feel about it, or what to do about it. She couldn't ask anyone at home: Emperor Peony's tendency to tease, combined with his one unlucky foray into relationships only made him a tolerable option in comparison to the prickly ill-tempered monster that the Colonel turned into when anything ressembling feelings were introduced in the conversation.

So she decided to go walking on the beach, to be alone with her thoughts.

She had taken her bow and quiver, though, since the men would have probably not let her out of the house without them... well, they wouldn't have let her out this late with them but they didn't know and might not be as mad if they found out as long as she took some elementary precautions.

Natalia was jarred out of her thoughts by the sound of a loud splashing... did someone fall off the docks? She rushed towards the origin of the sound.

"Is everything all right?" she shouted.

"Minako-chan?" Utena stood up, craning her head to see if she could spot the girl's light pink hair. And then she heard the decidedly male hums, which confused her since the only figure she could see from where she was was Natalia. Standing and wading out until the water was at her waist, she cracked a smile and waved, glad to see her despite herself.

"Natalia-chan!"

It was then that she noticed the other figure, more intimidating now in the dark and the moonlight. Wading out onto the sand, she kept close to Natalia, wary of either one of them being alone with the man. But she didn't call to him just yet, just made sure she knew he was there - and that she could see him out of the corner of her eyes.

"Did I worry you?" she said to Natalia. "I was just out for a swim! It's great at night; you should try it sometime!"

Minako wasn't entirely sure if she wanted to swim this late at night, but she felt uneasy about leaving Utena by herself. There was strength in numbers, after all.

Inviting Rei-chan to join them had resulted in a long, tedious lecture about the dangers of the island and night swimming, and rain...and strange girls with pink hair, so Minako was the last to arrive.

She heard Utena before she saw her...she seemed to be speaking to a girl Minako did not recognize, which was a feat: the blonde Senshi had been certain the entire female population of the island had been at her volleyball game.

There was something else making her a little nervous too, perhaps the dock lit only by moonlight, or the rain...but she chalked it off to being unused to being out this late at night.

Minako went to stand beside Natalia at the docks, smiling at the unfamiliar girl before waving to Utena.

"Hi, Utena-chan!"

Well, now there were three of them, and that wouldn't be so bad, right? Utena relaxed, waving the other blonde over to the shore.

"Minako-chan, over here!" Putting her arm around Natalia's shoulders, she sent a smile to the Minako, nodding at the water. "This is Natalia-chan! She's a friend of mine, too! I know you were worried about swimming at night, but it'll be safe with three people, right? Let's go, the water's really refreshing!"

She took another wary glance in the nightmare's direction, as it questioning what exactly he was doing standing there staring at them.
