Kanda didn't reply, but merely tightened his hold on Eikyu. Of all times for that Noah to show up, why did it have to be now, when he was in this body? He was glad he had given in to Lenalee's pestering and taught her how to wield a katana. However, due to the many missions they went on, he hadn't been able to train her too much, and there was no way her arms could handle wielding two katanas. His hold on Eikyu felt strange and unfamiliar, the muscles unused to the feel of a blade.

"I don't see him," he finally answered very softly. There was no way he could tell Daisya, even hint to him, of this enormous disadvantage he was at. And Lenalee's Innocence wouldn't even respond to him. Not that he expected it to, anyway.

Still, Kanda was never one to back down from a fight. He was just going to have to improvise a little bit more than usual.

Tyki Mikk had collected three shirts already, one cravat, one tie, a pair of breeches, and boots with a buckle. It was getting dark and he was about to win a pair of manly white stockings from someone who was dressed like a pirate. It was lovely doing business with these people--although these people felt somewhat different, to tell the truth, from the ones he was used to beating at cards.

They weren't very good at this game, however. Never accept a bet while playing a card game where you've only just learned the rules!

Nonetheless, Tyki was about to win the hand and the stockings when he heard the sound of distant footsteps. He was...concerned about his Tease--he'd tried to use his powers on the boat, in a situation, but it hadn't been all that effective. And then he'd gone and had those nice conversation with those Exorcists...

This was probably them.

"Full house," he said, spreading his cards across the table. Let them come. That was his favorite hand.

Daisya approached the docks, and the look on his face went from intent to murderous. He saw Tyki playing cards with the sailors, and he clenched his fists so hard that his hands ached.

"There," he hissed.

Tyki had gotten the jump on him in Barcelona. That wouldn't be happening again. Even without his Innocence, Daisya was strong and fast... and that was what he would have to rely on.

He only hoped Kanda was ready.

Kanda placed a hand on Daisya's shoulder. "Don't," he said softly. "If you let your emotions get away with you, you will have disastrous results. You want to eliminate your target. Focus on that, and nothing else."

The words were just as much for himself as they were for Daisya. Kanda seethed inside as he stared through the window at that Noah acting like he was every other normal human being. That Noah took away his best friend, one of the very few people--and there were very few--that he held dear to him. It was only because he had brought to this world that he was able to see Daisya again.

That day, in Barcelona, was the day that for the first time since he was a small child, that Kanda actually cr--well, there was no sense in thinking about it anymore. Not now.

That Noah was going to pay. Even if it killed him in the process, that bastard was going to pay.

Were these kids retarded?

Cross had a feeling that at least Daisya was going to go pay Tyki a little visit, but Lenalee? Huh, he'd thought she would have been smarter than that. (Obviously, he hadn't cared enough to catch wind of Kanda and Lenalee's little issue, but that'd probably change soon enough.)

Oh well.

Cross apparently had some unfinished business with the bastard too, so he figured he might as well go take it up with Tyki before someone who was too weak to handle him got their ass in a royal mess. Looks like he'd come just in time.

Cross managed to get a few measures ahead of them. He didn't have the Magdala Curtain, but he liked to think he was good enough at snooping that he could get by without it. He'd taken refuge behind a several large crates, a few feet away from the Noah, behind him. His good eye narrowed as he glanced to the side, watching as the two came closer... and then he poked his head out just a tad, watching Tyki from a distance.

All right...

Ready. Aim. Fire.Hopefully, he'd get him in the back of the ( ... )
