It would be nice to say Farfarello had, during Nagi's long absence, learned to see the value in being responsible and practical and locking one's doors against adventurous thieves and such. But he had not, and so when the front door blew open it was a surprise.

An unwelcome one. Without thinking, he sprung up from where he'd been dozing on the couch, drew a blade from where he hid them in his arm bands and flung it in the direction of the intruder. He waited expectantly for cries of pain, the snick of blade into flesh. His fingers tightened on the cushions. At first all he heard and saw was the wind. It swept test tubes, stained coffee filters, chicken bones into the living room in strong gusts. Then to his disgust he saw that the intruder was Nagi, which was why his blade hadn't struck home.

Figured.

"The prodigal son returns," Farfarello remarked, folding his arms across the back the couch. "Why are you here? You had better not have dented my blade."

That shouldn't have come as a surprise - Nagi should have been able to remember that Farfarello didn't take well to uninvited guests, but that was why it took him so long to react and prevent Farfarello's attack from following through.

"No," he replied quickly while stepping in and closing the door, "I've kept up the use of my powers; your blade is fine."

It was the first of many reasons why this would have been a heck of a lot easier if Farfarello wasn't around. But he was, so that train of thought wasn't worth pursuing. "I came to confirm some suspicions - you're alive, because you wouldn't let anyone or anything kill you, but you're alone. I need to know if anyone else will be using this... facility and what's in it in the near future. His eyes slowly moved about the main room and as far as he could see from the entryway, trying to gauge how much damage Farfarello had done in his absence.
