It took a bit of effort, she would admit. She was unfamiliar with the streets of this place, and normally, when trying to find a designated meeting place, she would have the other Exorcists with her -- but this time, she didn't. This left Miranda to sit in her room in the Inn and think -- she'd walked through the city for quite some time that day; she was sure she saw the place the boy was talking about. At least one of them... But if she couldn't find it, she could always ask for some sort of map, right?

At least, unless she got lost. Miranda thought she was kind of useless like that.

But she'd made it; feeling rather proud of herself for not getting eaten by the locals or tripping and falling down a manhole. She closed her journal and tucked it away in her bag as she stood outside the Eagles Splendor, staring up at the sign before she took a deep breath and pushed the door open.

She was a little older than what Kaoru(and maybe Hikaru) would remember; a year older than the last 'self' -- Darammi, as Kaoru thought of her -- though ( ... )

"Ah! Miranda!" Kaoru smiled pleasantly and reached out to take her hands. "You're looking... much better than how I remember you," he admitted, wincing a little at his own remark. "Sorry... I know everyone's been pretty mean about the whole 'coming back' thing, but I really want to get to know you better anyway - this you." He motioned up and down at her. It was funny, but he'd always thought of her as an adult that should have been at least half a head taller than he was. Yet, they were able to look each other in the eye. "And everyone needs a job, so..."

He backed up a little and swung his arms wide to indicate the vast area that was the main showroom. Things had changed a little, and now what they'd been using as a workroom was available space for an open tailoring area - open in the sense that customers could come back and have things tailored on the spot for them, or simple mends taken care of in a jiffy. Two more changing rooms had been added behind the desk as well, helping maintain enough walls to keep the stability of the ( ... )

Miranda was a little startled by how friendly Kaoru was; all she could do was stand there and blink and think of Allen and Linali -- this was just something they would do if they hadn't seen her in a long time; welcoming her so friendly. It helped her feel like there was a little piece of home here. It wasn't the Order, and Kaoru wasn't Allen and certainly not Linali, but it was a friendly smiling face like all the others in the Order. Well, mostly all if one managed to look over certain swordsmen who liked to yell at her...

"A-ah, thank you, Mister Kaoru.." She wasn't quite sure what the last 'self' here had looked like, but she was sure he was just trying to compliment her. When he gestured to the shop, her eyes followed and glanced over the clothing racks and mannequins. The last time she worked in a clothing store... She held back her cringe; she'd been fired within the first week. That had been her eighty-first 'You're Fired!'Her attention was soon taken away from the store when she heard someone else's voice and she snapped ( ... )

Kaoru had to laugh before wrapping an arm around his brother; it really had been awhile since anyone had been startled by their physical similarity. "We're twins. This is my brother, Hikaru; no one can tell us apart." Except Haruhi.

Then a neat idea popped into Kaoru's head. "I bet we could even host a party and not one person would be able to tell us apart all evening." He looked over at Hikaru, gold eyes twinkling. It's been a long time since we were hosts, hasn't it? We could make it an Open House to celebrate the renovations, his face said.

As long as they'd been there, who knew... it could be their birthday party! And a chance to play a few pranks on stuffy people, lighten the mood and really act like... well, themselves again: teenage boys. That could help Hikaru too, right? It made sense in Kaoru's mind, at any rate.

Miranda continued to look back and forth between the two, even leaning forward just a couple inches to inspect them a little closer before she stood back up straight again, looking at a complete loss. Twins, huh..? She tilted her head to the side a little and she wondered if she'd ever notice a difference between them.

"I... I don't think I'll ever be able to tell you both a-apart," She said her voice quiet and unsure, as though afraid of insulting them. Like she should have been able to tell. But her eyes couldn't see the smallest difference...

"I-It's very nice to meet you both, though," She said, a small, nervous smile tugging at her lips as she folded her hands in front of herself politely.

"Don't worry, we like it that way." Except when we don't. "Keeps things interesting, right?" Kaoru chukled a bit, leaning back on his brother in the comfortable way they had.

"So it's settled then!" He announced, raising his free hand a bit, "we'll work with you for a few days to get you comfortable with the store and then we'll host a big party in the showroom, the backyard, and the first floor of our house!"

It can be our substitute for Halloween! Maybe no costumes, but all the tricks and treats! Eyeballs in the drinks... gummi worms in the apples...
