Kurogane skulked into the bar almost exactly an hour before opening, as the employees had been told to. Two bouncers would be working today - Renji had said that Rivelata had a bad habit of ruining any events, and though Bar Hades wasn't the grandest of the grand openings, he couldn't be too careful - and Kurogane wasn't too pleased about working with the shorty, but he would deal with it.
He nodded tensely in Renji's direction and waited at the door, teeth grinding together quietly. Fay would come tonight - with someone else. With his boss' captain. With one of the few people Kurogane considered his friend.
And still, he felt slightly ill from the werebite.

Haruhi had a habit of being either on time or slightly, slightly late. And when she was very slightly late, she was rushing so much that the few minutes that had passed of her lateness didn't seem to matter. And so he arrived at Bar Hades, pizza boxed and balanced in one hand, beaming as he found and approached the red-headed, hot-headed owner.
"Hey, business partner!" He held out the pizza, one hand on his hip, barely breathless from his dash across the street. "Nice bar you've got here! I think my pizzas will go great with your booze!"
"Awesome, dude," Renji called from behind the bar before remembering that Haruhi was at least supposed to be a girl. Ah, well. "Guess we can put 'em in the back fer now, and I'll make real sure Luke tells everybody we get pizza on special er somethin'. Whadaya say?"
There was afoolish grin spread across Renji's face. Everyone liked pizza.
"Sure thing! But only for today! I can't go bankrupt before I get started on your free birthday pizzas!" Haruhi grinned back, shooting Renji a almost too-feminine wink.
"If you need help with managing anything, lemme know! Oh, and if you see anyone who worked for Kira and Katou, lemme know that, too!"

Kintaro was getting restless, lately all he was really doing was wandering about, lazing about, and going to work. This place, allbeit offering some, had none of the comforts he was used to, and it was starting to get to him.
Fortunately, he has seen the bar being built some time back, and he promised himself he'd go once it got up and running. It wasn't a place he really was hoping for, but it was still something familiar, and not far down his list of good familiarities. Plus he might meet up with a hot chick!
He had to wait until after work to even go, and then he had to go home and get ready. Couldn't be going to a bar hoping to find all the right curves while covered in flour and sticky drops of noodle dough.
As he stood just outside the door, he straightened his pants, made sure his wallet was still there, glanced back at his bicycle tied to the nearest lamppost, and proceeded inside.

It really wasn't his best day.

"Happy Birthday, boss," she said, giving a wink and a smile with fangs, "And hello to you, too, Kurogane."
