LAST ONE I SWEAR. But this one is open? :DDDD
WHO: Hiruma Youichi, Claire Bennet and ANYONE who happens to be wandering around outside on the night of the full moon
WHAT: Hirumabat is free, and hungry. Watch him raid fruit stands, eat small animals and scare people. You can try to talk to him! You can poke him! Or shoot at him if you are Selene

So he'd kicked off his covers and wandered outside into the night air, mumbling formulas to himself and scribbling them down on a notepad as he walked about the city. He had a bag of apples slung over his shoulder, since zetta geniuses needed brain fuel, after all.

Hiruma liked apples.
Apples would be a good start.
He could smell them, it was just a matter of finding-- ah, there. His sonar revealed a human, probably a young male, with a bag of fruit on his shoulder.
The bat landed on a nearby building and considered his options. The human didn't seem to be very strong, or very smart. He was wandering around after all.
Besides, easy pickings.
Very well. He jumped from the building and opened his wings, flapping after the young man on the street, sonar allowing him to swoop in with precision and accuracy. With a screech, he snatched the bag in his mouth and wheeled upward, landing again on another building's roof nearby, and then proceeding to tear the bag into little bitty pieces to get to the fruit inside.

Oddly, he was more concerned that he hadn't sensed the damn thing coming than its actual presence. he was USED to large, weird animals, he worked with Noise after all. The thing wasn't all that different from a vespirillo.
"You zetta son of a digit!" he shouted, closing his eyes and attempting to teleport after the damn thing.
To no avail. "FACTORING HECTOPASCALS!" he shouted. "I HATE THIS STUPID FACTORING CITY AND ITS REDUCTION OF MY POWERS."
In the end it probably wasn't worth it to try to get his apples back. Sighing, he turned around and continued to try to come up with more creative ways to swear using math terms in order to adequetley express his anger.

If he didn't want his apples stolen, he shouldn't have been walking around where he could find him!
Of course, with a mouth as large as Hiruma's, it didn't take long for him to eat every single one of the apples, and then throw the shredded bag on to Sho.
The monster bat peered over the side of the building and hissed a warning. It was time for the human to go away now, or he would end up hurt.

He shut down for a few hours each day to conserve power, but he never really slept.
He was also worried.
Max, who had gone from "that strange bird girl" to "one of the closest things I have for a friend in this godforsaken place" had run off as Danny was gone.
Into the jungle.
While he didn't doubt that Max could take care of herself, X had also been able to take care of himself and hell if he was losing another friend. Not here, not now, not EVER.
So Zero donned his armor and began walking towards the woods, determination on his face.

So he turned his attention to the jungle. With a few leathery flaps, he was at the edge of the jungle. He climbed into a nearby tree and sent his sonar out, looking for any sort of small, sleeping animal in the trees.
Monkies.
That would work.
The bat took off from the tree and swooped to a nearby tree, grabbing a small, sleeping primate from its nest. The monkey let out one piercing scream that would have been quite loud in the otherwise quiet night. But it couldn't scream long.

Drip.
Drip.
A small puddle of blood was forming on the ground next to Zero.
Of course, the sounds of a bat ripping apart its meal weren't too pleasant either. Squishing noises as he bit through organs and crunches and snaps as he made his way through the bones. And by the time he was done, there was nothing left.
The beam saber was bright, and made a very high pitched noise that the bat did not like. He hissed from the tree branch.

He took a break by the park, sitting down to replenish his energy with some well-deserved sugar.

He sniffed the air thoughtfully, then growled. There was something coming, and he wasn't interested in food, or fights at the moment. But he'd made himself quite comfortable in this tree and he wasn't going to give it up easily. He glided from one tree to the next until he was in one near this intruder.
He didn't recognize him. No face, no name.
The bat let out a warning growl.

It didn't seem like the creature meant to do him any harm. If it did, it would have attacked him immediately instead of just growling. Maybe it was hungry.
"I only have candy," Lambo said, fishing out another lollipop from his bag. "You can have one if you want."

Hiruma crawled down from the tree, pausing about halfway down the trunk. He snatched the candy from Lambo before scurrying back into the tree with a hiss. He sniffed it, licked it curiously, then ate the entire thing, stick and all, in one bite.
It was largely unsatisfying, but tasty. Maybe this human wasn't so bad to have around, since it had openly given him food... so he decided simply to watch him.

Something had flown toward the jungle, and returned.
She had remembered people being werecreatures. Her body began to go into battle mode, as she had dubbed it, as soon as she saw something flying in the moonlight. She had great night vision, another of those delightfully useful mutations, and glared as she realized it was a semi-human flying thingShe was the only flying person she knew of in Rivelata ( ... )

Except for the part where it'd sprayed him in the face with some sort of corrosive stuff. That had been most painful. But worthwhile!
He was full now, and morning was approaching. He was rather beat up already and didn't feel like--
Wait. A sound. Flapping, behind him. He turned his head and sent a few sonar screeches in the direction of the noise. The waves bounced back, showing him the image of a... bird? Human? Both?
Whatever it was, it was chasing him.
Time for evasive maneuvers. The bat tucked his wings in and dove to the streets below. He would lose the predator in the urban jungle.

Poor Hiruma.
Her body slowed as she neared where he'd ducked into the "jungle". Max clenched her jaw. He wouldn't escape. Not when he was in her airspace, and there was no Claire to drag his (now) furry arse from this. She'd be damned before she failed another friend.
Reply
She was.
He screeched at her and ducked around a corner, flying into an open window and crashing through a not-so-open window on the other side of the building.
He wasn't faster than her, not bu any means. But he was much more maneuverable, able to twist and turn his way through the maze of buildings.

Jeff's housemates had been acting weird lately. Well, they were always kind of weird in the way that he figured couples always acted, but he knew better than to ask questions or to investigate too thoroughly for that matter. This kind of weird was... Different, though. Different in a 'someone or something in a very close proximity just made a noise that would have shattered his glasses if they weren't so incredibly thick' kind of way. He had been waiting with a few small explosives for whatever horrible creature got to Hiruma and Claire to go after him next, but no such thing happened.
The place was dead silent.
Hurriedly stuffing the pockets of a slightly oversized jacket with a few flares and a couple of slightly bigger, nastier things and clinging to a book of matches as if his life depended on it, Jeff slipped out into the night on a mission. If some horrifying creature was abducting people and conveniently passed over him, it had to mean something after all. Plus ( ... )

Hiruma watched the odd, lion-stinking math person run away. It was interesting, he wasn't like him, but he definitely had a strange, nonhuman smell abut him.
Oh well.
Hiruma turned his head, looking back in the direction of the roost. He smelled the distinct smell of explosives. Gunpowder, chemicals, ash.
Most unpleasant.

That noise.
These were the times when Jeff cursed his physical ability (or lack thereof). The sound of small rushed footsteps echoed through the night as he dashed pathetically toward the estimated source of the sound - who knew where whatever horrible abomination would end up by the time he actually got there? The sound didn't seem that distant, but still...
Man, it would have been kind of nice if Jeff could just ignore this stuff and enjoy a night of almost dead silence, shut away from- No, there wasn't any backing out of this one now. Unless it was deaf or had fled, the whatever-it-was could probably hear his every movement and breath by now.
As he rushed, Jeff pulled one of his flares from his pocket and stuffed it under one arm where it would be readily accessible, if somewhat limiting if he didn't want to drop it.

The way her heart beat-- almost a pattern-- rhythmic sounds as if they were foretelling of some horrible worry realized.
She couldn't stop imagining him dead in a ditch somewhere, torn apart into pieces by Selene or Rudy or someone else, one of the many not-so-great people Rivelata was home to; couldn't stop thinking of blood, wounds, the trouble he must have gotten himself into by now, the trouble she couldn't fix, couldn't heal--
Dead, dying, somewhere, abandoned, ditch, alleyway, park, ruins, jungle, wherever, Claire's mind racing with horrible possibilities as she raced through the streets--
Then she almost collided with Jeff.
"Oh god, you nearly gave me a heartattack! Not that... that would take..." she added, making a face. "What are you doing out here?" She was too worried to try and lie, something she wasn't good at to start with, the expression on her face giving plenty away as it was, harried, and panicked and maybe a bit pale.
