Well.
There was a bird. In the street. Spouting poetry.
This must have been one of the reported cases of people turning into animals. Oddly enough, this person-turned-animal seemed to retain some semblance of humanity, and hadn't been completely consumed by the disease. It was incredibly curious.
After grabbing a shirt and checking up on the members of the household, Yuki made his way to the front door on the first floor and closed it quietly behind him as he stepped outside.
The bird didn't seem at all that threatening or violent, but Yuki's reflexes would kick in if the time came to make a quick escape.
"A frog, you say? You're going to wake the whole island up," he said to the bird, incredibly calm given the situation. But it wasn't as though he hadn't seen people-turned-animals

He fluttered his wings a bit, and then began to sing.
"I'm not a lumberjack
Which isn't OK!
I run all night
and I sleep all dayyy~"

"You really aren't making any sense at all, and I think you have your sleeping schedule messed up. You ought to go back home. The more people you wake up, the more likely you are to get into a heap of trouble."
Play it nice and cool, at least until this thing started nipping at him. So far, again, no reason for alarm. Why was he out here, anyway? He didn't usually run off into situations like this.

Which really didn't last long.
He began nibbling at Yuki's clothes, more as if he was looking for something. "Do YOU have a froggy?"

Max spotted the crane with her raptor vision, even in the crescent-moon light. She glared and swooped, intending to grab him and hold him until Larxene could take the renegade bird back to her house to deal with him.

"Unhand me, lady Maxine, or I shall be forced to turn you into a SHRUBBERY," he shouted, trying to peck and scratch at her.

It took all her willpower not to drop the bird and go away.
"With your magical voodoo, I'm so afraid, Zexion." She muttered, landing on a rooftop to pin his feathers. "I've got mutant strength you can't dream of in that form, and there's no way you're running around this city where you could possibly infect people and endanger your own life." She look him directly in the eyes. "If I become a crane, God forbid, you owe me."
The pecks were nothing more than an annoyance right now. The fear of lycanthropy had been washed away when her body suddenly went into battle mode. A little bit of blood seeped out from where he broke the skin, but injury was the least of Max's worries.
"And I know exactly how to disable wings." Her brown eyes seemed to be on fire. Why hadn't she decided to bring rope just this once?

"I said let me go," he hissed, anger and resentment swelling in his breast.
As he said that, pain shot through every bone in his body. He squawked, convulsing, as suddenly his bones ceased to be hollow.

Quickly, she got up from the couch she had been staying on for the past few days and made it to the window just in time to see him fly off. Oh no. Oh no! That woman would be patrolling the streets and she might...
"LARXENE!" Namine called in what was close to a panic as she grabbed one sandle and clipping it on her foot. "Zexion is loose!" She pulled on the other sandle and forced it to buckle as well.
Hoping that she would be followed, Namine ran out of the house and followed the direction the bird had gone in hopes of finding him at least.

"Of course now is the time you decide you've spouted enough bad poetry." Max complained as she looked away. Looking away allowed the bird-girl to see the blond head of hair running below. She was yelling Zexion's name. Perfect time for her to escape.
"Your rescue party is here." She said, voice still slightly strangled. She felt the need to burn her eyes out and wipe her memories, really. That was one thing she could've lived very peacefully without ever having seen.
Lucky for Zexion, Max didn't have her backpack. Which meant she had no spare clothes.

"Miss Namine?" he called. "I... am up here. I am no longer a bird. And I ah, have no clothes."

There was genuine kindness in his voice. "Thank you for coming after me at all, and keeping me out of trouble."
Running a hand through his hair, he sighed. "I think we should all get home before more damage is caused, yes?"

Looking back, Zexion was blushing. That was interesting. Max had recovered her usual mask, hiding most everything beneath it again.
She raised an eyebrow and walked to the edge, unfurling her wings again. Naminé, had Zexion called her?, would find out that special trait soon enough. Max wasn't about to admit she was utterly uncomfortable and out of her element when it came to holding people that close.
She settled her jaw and turned around. "So I get a free pass this time. I'm so honored." If there was a next time he decided to be a bird, Max was bringing rope and tying the stupid were-bird down. If there was a next time. If what Batman and the hunter-person had said, she was really hoping there wasn't a poety-spewing bird form in her future. He so owed her for that.

"That sounds like a good idea," She agreed, finally looking up, surprised to see the other nobody blushing too.
She watched the other girl when she spoke, surprised to see wings on the girl's back. She barely managed to contain her surprise. She was very pretty, and with her wings she would be a good subject for a drawing maybe...Namine pulled herself back to the situation and looked back to Zexion.
"How are we going to get down?" she asked, hoping it was not the way she had come up.
