Namine pulled her blanket closer around her shoulders having stopped running as she lost her lead. Where could he have gone ( ... )

Zexion quickly took the blanket and tied it around himself, fastening it like a toga. He was blushing furiously now. "I apologize. To both of you. Max, thank you for, er, rescuing me. I am rather upset that you dropped me but given the circumstances. And Namine..."

There was genuine kindness in his voice. "Thank you for coming after me at all, and keeping me out of trouble."

Running a hand through his hair, he sighed. "I think we should all get home before more damage is caused, yes?"

Max watched the ascent of the girl. Rather weak, wasn't she? Another person to watch out for. It was a pet peeve of hers that bullies existed at all. Personal habit of hers to get into fights to even the playing field.

Looking back, Zexion was blushing. That was interesting. Max had recovered her usual mask, hiding most everything beneath it again.

She raised an eyebrow and walked to the edge, unfurling her wings again. Naminé, had Zexion called her?, would find out that special trait soon enough. Max wasn't about to admit she was utterly uncomfortable and out of her element when it came to holding people that close.

She settled her jaw and turned around. "So I get a free pass this time. I'm so honored." If there was a next time he decided to be a bird, Max was bringing rope and tying the stupid were-bird down. If there was a next time. If what Batman and the hunter-person had said, she was really hoping there wasn't a poety-spewing bird form in her future. He so owed her for that.

Namine was sure she was still blushing though the reason changed from embarrassment for both herself and Zexion to a strange form of pride. She could not remember ever having gotten praise from any of the original members of the organization, or anyone really at all beside Sora, Riku, and Kairi, and it felt good. She smiled shyly and clasped her hands behind her back, eyes still trained on the roof.

"That sounds like a good idea," She agreed, finally looking up, surprised to see the other nobody blushing too.

She watched the other girl when she spoke, surprised to see wings on the girl's back. She barely managed to contain her surprise. She was very pretty, and with her wings she would be a good subject for a drawing maybe...Namine pulled herself back to the situation and looked back to Zexion.

"How are we going to get down?" she asked, hoping it was not the way she had come up.

Zexion pondered the question, then began searching the perimeter of the roof. "I'm not sure. I'm afraid we may have to go back down the way you came up. I shall help you this time, of course," he said, sighing. It did not look like fun and he'd probably get very banged up from this adventure. He hated physical activity as a rule and already parts of him that he didn't even know existed ached. "Shall we then?"

She tried to smile but it came out quite strained, it was hard enough getting up, and she had done that entirely with hand and foot holds and how was she supposed to get down with out dropping some distance...

Namine walked over to the edge of the roof, sat, leaned over the edge and looked down. She quickly sat back up as calmly as she could in this situation and turned to look at Zexion.

"So, should you go first? or should I?" She asked trying not to look as nervous as she was.

Max watched them fumble around for a way down. Really, how could she help? All she would do is climb down. Apparently neither one of them actually exercised. Then again, flying daily, being trained and training generally kept her in shape. And there were those happy mutant genes that made her naturally active.

Without looking back, she leaped off the roof, wings catching the air as usual. The bites had stopped bleeding and would be healed by the morning from her recovered enhanced healing. The trail of blood dried as she flew, landing gracefully onto the roof of her house and climbing with expert precision into her opened window and down onto her bed, falling face-down into the pillow and attempting to sleep.

He could tell she was nervous. There'd been a time when he wouldn't have cared and simply ordered her down, but here, in this place...

He put it down to gratitude.

"I shall go first, I think," he said, and then began climbing down, looking for handholds.

Namine tried to not look as relieved as she felt. At least if he went first, if she fell he might be able to catch her.

She waited for him to have gotten far enough so she wouldn't accidentally hit him.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before turning around and sliding her legs off the side of the roof, holding as tight as she could with her hands while she tried to use her feet as leverage to get back to a place where she could touch something beside a wall with her feet.

Zexion went slowly, checking his hand and footholds and watching Namine, ready to catch her if he fell. He pondered the absurdity of what was going on: he was climbing down the side of a wall in nothing but a toga after having run through the streets spouting absolutely awful poetry. It seemed more like something Braig would have done in the old days than something he would have been involved in.

She managed to get down to the crates and was very relieved to have made it that far, the sill of the window a fantastic temporary handhold until she sat down on the crate she was at to wait for Zexion to have moved far enough.

"Are you feeling alright?" She asked, trying to not feel silly for asking the question when it was obvious that he should not feel very well.

A few moments and some rather unfortunate splinters later, Zexion was on the ground. He looked up at her question.

"My body hurts in places that I didn't know I had and I have quite likely ruined my image in the eyes of this island by acting like a complete idiot for the past few days. I was recently manhandled by an angry bird-woman and shifted not only species but from mammal to bird and back. I am exhausted, embarrassed, and exceedingly hungry. Other than that? I'm quite fine, thank you."

He managed to say that last bit without a trace of sarcasm.
