We are a wonderfull, friendly college, situated by the beautifull _____ city surrounded by the beautifull __ (insert natural wonder there). We offer challenging course in every fucking thing, not helping you choose a college at all. But apply to our college, were, after begging you to come, there's a 50% chance we'll laugh at your application and reject you! Doesn't that sould fun?
Yeah, it takes some work to ferret out the good universities, especially in the Biological sciences. And universities are full of lies and deceit, even after you enrol in them. There's really one one thing you can do: Ask people who actually do what you want to do what you want to do what programmes you think are good. Another thing that works is ask university professors in your desired field which, of all universities that are not their own, programmes they think the highest of. Don't worry about asking them; the overwhelming majority of these people /love/ to talk about what they do.
Finally, US News does a yearly ranking of most of the colleges in America, and their standing in given fields. Your local library probably has a copy.
Morbid curiosity: what type of biology. And you're in MN, right?
I wouldn't use intended major as anything more than a loose set of guidelines. I went to Gustavus thinking about majoring in chemistry or theatre. Now, two years later, I'm looking at either political science or history. Not too much alike, are they? Anyway, my point is: Don't commit yourself this early.
Yeah, I'll keep that in mind, but I'm pretty sure I'll go into something at least biology related. I mean, ever since I have always had in interest in ze animals. And then ze smaller creatures like ze protist and ze bacteria, and now that I'm not killing them left and right, I like ze plants. So yeah, the chances of me going into like, math or history are about zilch. But you know, there's always the off chance I'll rekindle my interest in English or something.

I know, that just confuses things more.
