Went to watch Garrison Keillor live today, blending dry wit and insight in his monologue.

Yesterday, I  came close to burning my house down.
Today, I own an appliance for deep frying.

Successfully emptied most of my veggie collection with veggie lasagna and brunswick stew.  Both came out quite tasty.  About half of both are getting frozen before we get sick of eating it.  Just too much there.  Still, the veggie pile in my fridge has gone down.  Almost containable in the crisper again ( Read more... )

We have joined a "farm share."  Basically, we get boxes of veggies from local farmers.  It's late in the growing season, but there's still some time.  Plus, we can decide if we we really want to fork out the cash to do it all year ( Read more... )

Three Austrians are passed out in my living room. We were up till 1am last night, showing them around town.  The wharf, monterey downtown, and the only decent restaurant that happened to be open.    Last night a chick from Boston was here, and we did something very similiar.
