business in the front, party in the back

I have fulfilled my jury duty obligations for the year! Which in actuality means that I called the automated system at 11:30 pm the night before my appearance date and found out that I wasn't needed. The whole thing was pretty anticlimactic, given that I've deferred the date twice over the past year only to be told, "We don't want you," but I'm not ( Read more... )

You will not regret buying I Capture the Castle. From what I recall.

Also, I'm in love with you gift wrapping skills. Those look lovely.

I don't think I shall, given your endorsement, as well as the conspicuous quote by J.K. Rowling on the front cover, hee.

Aw, thank you! Sometimes I think that I put in too much effort because people are ultimately going to rip off the paper, but last year I had some people be really careful about unwrapping their gifts, so much so that I became impatient and cried out, "Open it already!"

You are gonna love "Cien años de Soledad" ;)

Those icons: so beautiful! I especially like those featuring Freema and that one with Amy's sister in the front. And I can see all those pastel colors hints. That show is so pastel and sweet that it suits them so well!

Yay! I actually wasn't going to get it at first because I didn't have much cash on me at the time, but then I found out that all paperback books were 50 cents each. I was like, I CAN HAS BOOKS!

Thank you! Some of the scenes are pretty dark, especially inside the Marshalsea, but everything else is so pastel and pretty!

At least you didn't try getting out of jury duty by wearing a Princess Leia costume ;)

The Little Dorrit icons are tremendously gorgeous. I love the pastels :) I took a bunch ♥

I'm not nearly as cool as Liz. I haven't any such costumes in my closet at the ready.

Thank you :D

Thanks! It's my way of cleaning out our drawers because I don't think we need three identical maps of the area in which we've lived for 20 years.

I know, I totally loved that! There really are places outside of Comic Con where being a Star Wars geek pays off.

Annnnne, you made Little Dorrit (and Pushing Daisies icons! You have made my evening.

Your wrapping skills and handwriting are ridiculous. I'm kiiiinda jealous, I won't deny it!

I didn't watch all of Cranford, or really any of it, but I did watch a few clips here and there to see Andrew Buchan (who plays...Jeb? Jed?). :-D

Yeah, I thought that there was a shortage of LD icons out there, so I figured I ought to help fill in the void :)

You should have seen a mug that I had tried to wrap earlier. I eventually gave up and threw it in a brown paper lunch bag and doodled some hearts on the bag, haha.

Jem! I'm not that familiar with the actor aside from an episode of Bones, but he certainly is pretty. As is Simon Woods, who plays the resident doctor :D

Well, I thank you for filling that void!

I'm not even that good at wrapping square/rectangular items, so I commend you for trying the mug.

Ahh, right, Jem. Haha, Dr. Ian Wexler. Whenever I talk to adinfinitum about him, I refer to him as "Dr. Ian Fucking Wexler." I was really, really sad he didn't make it past the end of the episode. Have you ever watched Party Animals? It's far from delightful, but it was good fun for 10-ish episodes, and it stars Andrew Buchan. And Shelley Conn, whom I think you'd like. Did you watch The Palace? I can't remember. But she was in it.

I don't think I've even heard of Party Animals before. I should seek this out somewhere. And I remember you being a big fan of The Palace, but I only saw the first episode. Sigh, so much television, so little time.
