I just got done watching X-Men: The Last Stand (hey, it was on a Showtime I couldn't help myself) and I think I might have realized what's wrong with both X-Men 3 and Spider-Man 3
( Read more... )
lmao yeah. It started as just the X-Men and Spider-Man thing, which I had planned on writing while I was watching the movie, and then it like evolved while I was writing, haha. thanks!
Well, the problem with AlMiles is that they just don't think anything through, and the Lois thing is a prime example. Also, they hate the fans - they knew about Chlois (Chloe ends up being Lois) way back in S1, and it was the perfect way out, and they could have done it so well, but they were like FUCK U GUYZ, LANA IZ AWESUM. I hate them.
Also, you're lucky that your Marvel movies at least listened to the fans too much instead of a certain director being all, "Ignore all seventy years of canon for this character except two mediocre movies from the late seventies, never talk to anyone who's actually read the comics, and then totally lift half the script from the source material and the other half from the Bible? AWESOME!" Like, I love SR, but NOT because of Bryan Singer AT ALL. Actually, my love for SR is about 78% Brandon Routh, 19% the kid who played Jason, and 3% Jason Marsden.
PS: I was wrong about the flying floating being in the second episode. It was the very beginning of the third (Hothead, the first truly awesomely
( ... )
Yeah, they basically want to write their own Superman universe, in which Lana is his true love, not Lois, and introduce Chloe (who I love but regardless) who is basically Lois and THEN introduce Lois and make a dumb tramp.
Bryan Singer is a douche. All he wants to do is the shit HE wants to do, regardless of if it's right or not. Granted he fucked Superman over WAY worse than he did X-Men, but he screwed some of their characters up really bad. Like Professor X. HE IS A DICK. And made Iceman all emo and shit. And Rogue important. Which in X-Men, where's there's lots of characters, those little things weren't nearly as glaring as they were in Superman. The plot of Superman Returns...well, it's a plot. Lex, Parker Posey's character, Brandon Routh and Super!Bastard made that movie for me.
Haha, I'll be sure to edit. I really want Smallville DVDs now and I have no idea why.
Iceman is played by an Ashmore, and therefore, I can't hate him. No matter how much Singer rapes his character.
Get Season 1! It's the gayest and the only one worth owning, because the show is so shiny and new and wasn't all about Lana yet and they still kind of knew what they were doing (except for the flying thing). Although 3 and 5 are pretty good for crack content. Lois is introduced in S4, the worst season ever, so if you don't want to see Lois, it's just the glory days (S1-3) for you. *fangirls*
You partly inspired to write this with what you wrote in my journal the other day. :D
I completely agree on all fronts. I watch House too, not in the fandom though, and I do have to give them a gold star for telling the overall story they want to tell. And you're right, TONS of don't get on message boards and whatnot. Hell, the other show I do do that for is Supernatural and I watch tons more TV than that, but I don't go to the message boards and LJ communities for all of that.
It's sort of a slippery slope though, I do really wonder where the line should be for fan involvment
Yep. I totally agree about X3 and Spidey 3. I re-watched "The Last Stand" as well the other night and came up with the same thing. I feel bad for Sam and Brett. They were trying to give EVERYONE what they wanted. And that's why the films were not as good. But that's almost impossible to do with these kinds of movies. I don't consider them horrible like some people, though. I really liked X3. But there's a lot I would change about it too.
It worked for me, mostly (I still worry over Pyro)
hehe Me too.
The comments by the creator of Desperate Housewives are really lame. I hate it when fans sway how the writers do things. Because I agree, you can't just take back everything that's already happened.
Yeah I feel bad for them too. They were just trying to please everyone and it basically backfired. I love both 3rd installments, but I think I'm in the minority, especially on Spidey.
Dude, Pyro's fate still bothers me. WHERE HE IS?
Exactly. I was really bothered when I read that. HE should be the one to decide, or at least the writers. Lame. Not like I'm going to stop watching or anything, but I think I did lose some respect for them
I haven't read it myself, but from what I've heard about the novelization Bobby took him back to the X-jet before Jean could kill him. But of course in the movie she destroyed that too.lol I think they left his fate open in case they did more movies. I think they knew that it was going to be the last though. Which is what really bugs me. There has to be closure man. My biggest issue with those films.

I wouldn't stop watching over something like that either. But I agree. You lose respect for people that do that.
