ATTENTION: the paywall on the Something Awful Let's Play forums has now been lifted, so people without forum accounts can now access
the Dangan Ronpa translation again! And the Let's Play was actually completed whilst the paywall was up, so you can now discover the conclusion of this delightful tale about friendship and murder

ALL MY FEELINGS RIONA AND RIONA'S AMAZING TRANSLATING FRIEND. ALL MY FEELINGS. :D
EDIT: in other news, I found a Monobear phonecharm on ebay (it's merch for the second game). I'm planning on buying it if I work up enough courage/get a Pyramid Head phone charm to go with it. Plus, it's under £5.

Why would you even consider getting Monobear and Pyramid Head phone charms? Do you hate peace of mind?

... but Monobear is in a hula skirt and playing a ukulele. And Pyramid Head is only dangerous to James/when in Silent Hill.
Despair is the most important phrase in the Dangan Ronpa universe. But my feeings still stand. All of them.

I WAS NOT EXPECTING MY ICON TO BE THIS APPROPRIATE. Stop playing the ukulele, horrifying things! Ukuleles are instruments of joy!

"I'm the Mastermind."
"Nice to meet you!"
Damn you Riona, I lost it right in the middle of the library at that point.
OH MAN OH MAN OH MAN OH MAN
That was so cheesy and ridiculous, but I loved every minute of it.
I was actually beginning to despair that I'd never get to read the end. Is there any word on why they randomly through a paywall at us, and why they took it down? What up wit dat?

I think the paywall is just something that automatically pops up sometimes, in the hope of getting more people to buy accounts. As for why the paywall came down briefly and then another went up almost immediately afterwards, I've no idea. Maybe they noticed the influx of new accounts during the first paywall and went 'hmm, putting up a paywall during the conclusion of a massively popular LP seems a viable business strategy'? Maybe they were just trolling? Who knows? In any case, I'm glad you were able to read it in the end!
Did you know the ending song is sung by Naegi's voice actor? I didn't realise that at first, and now I can't listen to it without picturing Naegi singing it. It's a rather delightful image.

I haven't listened to the songs yet. When I do, I'll now be unable to unpicture Naegi as well!

I was supposed to be spending today and tomorrow as relaxing days before Thanksgiving and then retail hell, why must I now spend them worried about the fates of fictional characters D:
I am kind of liking Naegi so far too, although that may be because everyone at this point is basically a cardboard cut-out and he at least gets the internal narration to make him seem closer to us.

(Also, you'll want to skip the post of notes on the early character designs, because it's been updated since first being posted and now contains spoilers for later in the game; I think it's posted somewhere in early Chapter Three.)
I'm particularly pleased that you're reading it! There's a reason I forbade you specifically from spoiling yourself back in June. How far are you?

I'm touched you thought of me! I think at the time I had assumed you had come up with some sort of code that allowed you to put the username of whoever was reading. I am not sure why I thought this. Perhaps I just didn't think you'd mention me. I finished part two, and shall be starting part three today. I did especially like how they handled Mondo killing Fujisaki; I immediately assumed it was because of homophobia, but no, it was because Monda thought Fujisaki was more manly than him. Also they never actually said Fujisaki was gay, so. And then moving the crime scene as an act of kindness rather than to withdraw suspicion! There may have been some wibbling last ( ... )
