My mind is currently doing that thing where it immerses itself in one fandom and then gets confused when I try to read fanfiction for another. Have you ever tried to read Brooker/Mitchell fic when both Charlie Brooker and David Mitchell are played by James McAvoy in your head? It's a very strange experience

They are completely adorable.

I'd like to be able to write fanfiction for this fandom, but I haven't been involved in a film fandom for six years; I'm used to television series and forty-hour videogames. How can I get a grip on characters when I only have a couple of hours of source material to draw on? Aaaaah!

(I suppose there are the comics, but that's a different universe, really, and raises the reverse problem of too much canon.)

I have seen McAvoy only in Macbeth, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and X-Men, and I have found him massively attractive in all of these. At least he has human legs this time.

I just watched Atonement the other day (I wouldn't recommend it, it is devastating) but he is unholy beautiful in it and I could watch him kiss ladies and cry for days and days and days???

...oh my god that singing clip. I can't even bring myself to ship them romantically; I just want them to be best friends teasing each other about their respective characters forever. (While also acknowledging that their characters were totally bangin'.)

I can't really 'ship them, either (tried reading one fic, hit an exchange along the lines of 'what about your wife?' 'what about her?', went :( :( :( and clicked straight out of there), but I totally, totally want them to train Pokémon together, which is a strong sign that I'm in love with their dynamic. They have been making me smile so much over the past couple of days.

Haha same. I'm totally shipping McAvoy and his wife after watching Shameless, so I cant bring myself to think of them as anything other then super epic BFFs. I do spend a ridiculous amount of time imagining them wearing matching friendship bracelets though. We all know the ones, super cheesy half hearts with 'best' and 'friend' on them :P

I really lose coherency too easily. It probably will embarrass me many times to come in my life.

(Also, I agree about the fic. Probably because I find Anne-Marie Duff, McAvoy's wife, to be adorable--they're the same height! They met on set! She's 8 years older! They were so cute alongside each other in the Last Station! What is it with me and "shipping" married couples?)
