my apology for barging in here... maybe John's flashback regarding Maybourne? you can go really dark in that direction & backstory always helps understanding how a character comes to be, right?

The muses got a few ideas on this 'verse.

Stuff that didn't work in Telpa because the D/s dynamic is a lot different between Parrish and Lorne ovah there.

I'm probably gonna dance around the sex for a while. I figure that's gonna be traumatic for all parties involved.

I've always wanted to do a really broken character, this seems to be the one.

broken!John done right is oh-so-appealing. there's just something about him that makes you wanna see him break then put him back together, whole but a few pieces still missing. i can see yours waiting to join my fav collection of broken!John's by race-the-ace & seekergeek. :)

Since Lorne is not very knowledgeable about John's previous experience, is he going to have John tell him what his past routine was? That might be really hard, but I would definitely help Lorne...

I think Lorne is going to be a little stubborn. He wants to know and doesn't want to know what went on at the same time. He wants to assert his claim, because at heart he is still an over and eventually, when the pity starts to wear off and John starts pushing him, he is going to assert himself.
