Having escaped the watchful eyes of his worried, Celebrimbor wanders through the woods around the Mansion. He's calmer now, having been convinced that this is all real and not some kind of evil illusion. Sleep has helped as well, though he's still slightly skittish and on edge. He's not expecting to find anything deep in the woods, so it's a ( Read more... )

Hopefully an undead half-first cousin once removed won't be enough to push him off-edge? Angrod's been poking around the woods, vaguely wondering if there's a limit to how far he can go and if he can find it, when he gets distracted by the working noises and goes to find that instead. Approaching the forge, he waves at it before he can really make out its inhabitant, because he's just friendly that way.

When he sees the movement he freezes, staring at Angrod for a little too long before his identity sinks in. He already knows that there are people here, relatives here, that had been dead, that he should be dead, but it's still surprising. Abruptly he shakes himself out of it and realizes that he's still holding an armload of ivy vines, he drops them onto the growing pile of brush and dusts his hands off on his clothes as he makes himself move closer. He's been trying very hard to seem in one piece.

If it's any consolation, Angrod can raise obliviousness to an art form when he wants to. At any rate, when he realises who it is he looks first very surprised, then pleasantly so. "Is that you, Tyelpinquar? ...I had no idea you were here; no one told me you were here -- how are you?"

He's surprised by the reaction from the undead cousin, but after the surprise beings to pass a hesitant smile crosses his face and he comes closer. "It's me. I only...I only got here yesterday. I'm...all right. How are you?"

"You know, it will be much less easy to climb, if you remove all the vines...."

Steerpike says it off-handedly, as he walks around the Mansion. Looking for a project himself.

Still amnesiac. Urgh.

He jumps, startled, too absorbed in his work and unfamiliar with the sounds of this forest to notice the man approaching. He resolves not to let that happen again. "I have no need to climb it," he says, "so I have no need for the vines. They'll get in the way of fixing the walls and the roof if I leave them up." Plus they may be a fire hazard, considering what it's for, but the typist isn't entirely certain on that point.

Typist agrees re firehazard. Steerpike, however...

"You do not, but I do. I use these, to get up on to the roof."

"Climbing around on the roof of a forge wouldn't be a wise idea," he says, frowning. He doesn't like the idea of anyone crawling around on his forge (and it already is his now, in his mind.

A little after sundown, Pandora finally located Celebrimbor - she had to seek him a bit, but she did, and he'll find her at the entrance of the forge, unchanged, smiling a little.

"Good eve." Very gently.

"--Lydia." He's a little startled by her arrival, but a small smile creeps onto his face. "Good evening."

She smiles back. It's good to feel welcome.

"You look well. Busy. Is this a good time?"

"Yes, I--yes. It is." He has to force himself to stop before he starts rambling.
