Cupping her face in his hand, so warm, so very familiar it makes him ache. "Nothing at all, dove."
He swallows hard, longing to kiss her, to taste her Grace, "Things just never work out as one plans, what?"

She looks up into his eyes. "Talk to me, Anthny. I can feel you, you know. "

Dead? With child and... dead?
Tears fill her eyes and it's a good thing he's holding her or else she would collapse.

Phoebe is tempted to challenge him, but then she gets a feeling of such anguish and despair flooding through her from him. He ws hurting so much over what had happened to the her in his time.
"Anthony... were you... were we... happy...? Did we ever..." She swallows. There is so much she has wanted to say to him, but this is not the time.

He sniffs and clears his throat, realeasing his embrace and gripping her shoulders.
"You're a strong girl. Strong enough to take me on more than once. You...stay the course, right?"
Reply
"Ah yes, I have many times gotten right into with you. I'll be who I am, I always have." She smiles sadly. "I'm not going to die on you, Anthony," she whispers. "We've only just got here."
Do not tell him about the attacks...the danger...not tonight.

"Tell me of you, now. The whelp is gone, yes? Left you heartbroken for the last time? Or has your life been so much different?"

She squeezes his hand and looks into his eyes. "I'm happy to be near you, Anthony... but if it will be too difficult,,,for any reason, I can do my best to stay out of your sight." Her voice is sad.

He pulls her close, holding her so softly as the wicked sneer curls his mouth into a cruel twist. Eyes dart to where the shadow of the whelp stalks off.
"Most beloved Phoebe. You're devotion is a prize I don't deserve."
