Trip to Hull, MA - Nantasket Beach and Fort Revere, 23 June 2010

I had some free time during the afternoon today. I was originally going to go out and do some writing, but it was a nice day, so instead I decided to swing on by the town of Hull, which isn't too far from my hometown of Weymouth, and where I spent many nights back in school just driving to aimlessly with my friends ( Read more... )

Nice pics of Hull. My group, we drive all the way out to the wind turbine at Hull High at night and hang there, and if there open we grab ice cream at that place on the strip you got pics of. Yummy ice cream!

Nice. Very interesting view of the place.

Despite using only your phone camera, I think you got some really cool shots. And the sky, with those clouds, is a remarkable backdrop. That and the odd dynamic light levels lend the whole series a dreamlike quality which fits the nostalgic narrative.

Cheers! Thanks for sharing those.

Yeah, the sky was very obliging by providing big, fluffy clouds as opposed to the dull haze of gray that it so often likes to do up here in the Northeast.

Really nice selection of pics! Reminds me of going back to Sauble Beach after not being up there for many years (except that in my case, the kick-ass arcade was gone).

Too bad about that fort, though. Would be great if there was a way to re-purpose the structure while preserving the historical significance.

Poignant and amusing.

Thanks for sharing these! Your nostalgic annotations made them all the more captivating.

The first set, of the beach and trottoir, reminded me in no small measure of Northern Ireland. I only lived in Rathglynn a few months as a kid before my mom moved back to Holland, but I have strong memories of the (rather drab) rocky beachfront on all sides of Lough Neagh.
