So, I finally got 'round to seeing Goblet of Fire last night with elira, lianda, ostraya, and smirnov_.

It was much better than I had expected, having not liked the book very much (although I love me some Triwizard Champions - if only they'd had, you know, lines or something). I actually almost want to read the book again on the strength of the movie alone, except I know ( Read more... )

OH NEVILLE.

Yes, indeed. I was so happy that he owned this movie. That was fantastic.

I UTTERLY AGREE!

Although, what I'm really looking forward to is Radcliffe doing HBP!Harry.
I'm worried, though, since it takes about 2 years for each movie, right? Already, he looked kinda old for the Goblet of Fire (14? C'mon.) By the time Half Blood Prince comes around, wouldn't he be around 21-ish? I like him too, but I'm thinking that they're gonna up and replace him. o_O. EEEE.

But him looking at Cho Chang and slopping water was hilarious. I LOVED THAT SCENE.

- Cedric Diggory does this thing where he stares at stuff in an uncomfortably sexual manner. Like, the Goblet of Fire and Harry and stuff. Um.

HAHA WHEN CEDRIC ASKED HARRY TO TAKE A BATH I WAS THE ONLY ONE LAUGHING IN THE THEATRE. You'd like that, Cedric, wouldn't you?! WOULDN'T YOU?

Ahem.

I still love you Fleur Delacour!I wanted to hear her French accent! But all she said was "you saved my sister" and everything else was pretty much looking proud and stuff... She looked pretty in her gown! But then there was only a flash on her before they moved onto someone else. It ( ... )

Radcliffe's only 16 right now. Yeah, in later movie's it might make a difference, but if Hollywood believes that a 27-year-old Tobey Maguire can play a high school kid, I don't think they'll have a difficulty with an 18-year-old playing a 15-year-old. I think replacing him would be a mighty stupid thing to do. Too many people like Radcliffe too much, and he's gotten good enough at the part that it would be a shame to kick him out and replace him with some noob ( ... )

I had severe issues with how much filler they had to cut out of the plot to make it short enough... some of my favourite bits of the book were just GONE. Like SPEW! SPEW was hilarious! And Hermoninny of course. I agree they definately should have focussed more on the Four Champions instead of the Fantastic Three. And they cut out all the stuff about Rita Skeeter and stuff, those things were actually really amusing. Anyway, I just had issues with what they cut out ( ... )

So dude, I finally realized why so much of the movie didn't quite jive with me, and why it felt so, so wrong and out of place whenever Harry said "...and Wormtail was with him." Or when anyone mentionned "Wormtail" at all. Because THEY'D NEVER SAID IT BEFORE. WHY. WHY OH WHY DID THEY NOT JUST **EXPLAIN** THE MARAUDER'S MAP IN THE FIRST PLACE. Because now Pettigrew is just suddenly Wormtail and NOT Pettigrew...and aiy yai yai yai yai.

:D It was a small feeling, compared to the rest of the amazingness, but I'm glad I finally clicked on it.
