Good times
Had a really nice weekend, got to hold an actual Oscar! Met David White, who won it for sound editing on Mad Max: Fury Road, very cool guy. Sunday, we saw The Revanant. Amazing film, visually stunning, I'm actually surprised it didn't win for best sound. I'm also glad the "big storm" that was supposed to drench SoCal all day Sunday and Monday ( Read more... ) -

Was just looking through old posts, damn, I used to go out a lot! There's also a lot of people I miss hanging out with! -

Just did something very theraputic, cleared over 3000 old emails from my inbox! -
Still in Hollywood
As I'm sitting outside my office eating lunch, I think about the song. I've been here since 2000, two different jobs, same office building.

too good for my own good?
I just got a raise at work. So why is the only thing I'm thinking about is "Have I priced myself out of any other job?"

how bad is it that even though I could use the money, I turned down overtime at work today? I still have to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.

Thinking out loud (or at least writing it out)
I kinda wish I had learned how to do more than one thing as a career. I've been doing the video thing since 1988, and although I like it overall, I feel like the industry has passed me by. A lot of that is probably my fault,once I'm off work for the day, I don't feel like doing research or learning about new technologies, or upping my skill set. I' ( Read more... )
