Ragnar sits, looking bemused, in the middle of the bed in the bedroom of an apartment he doesn't recognize by sight or by smell. He's thin and tired and his fur is tangled. There's scorched fur on his legs and his back.
"I will say this: I hope I am not dead. This is indeed not what one expects from death, particularly when one is a cat."
