my aunt and uncle's tree

this journal entry is dedicated to my favorite tree right now: a paperbark cherry tree, aka japanese paperbark tree.
this tree is located at my aunt and uncle's house in portland, oregon. it's amazing! the bark peels off like a ribbon reel and curls up in little curly queues.

ohohoh one of my favorite memories is one time when i was hiking with my dad off the trail we got lost and found a tree like that. we called it the alice in wonderland tree. we have returned to that wood since but failed to find the tree again.
