I don't know how many of you know someone who's had covid, but I got it last November. I had no sick contacts that I was aware of. I was in the hospital for eight days, and when I got out I was so weak I could hardly walk, even with my walker. It took about a month and a half to get back to feeling 100% (for me).

I don't wanna lose my journal, so I guess I have to post something. I've had a difficult time logging in. I keep getting "journal temporarily suspended." I don't know what that is, but I've tried to log in several times over the last few days. I've been spending most of my reading time on AO3. Loads of reading done.

I haven't posted in quite a while because I've been feeling bad and getting sick a lot. My doctors are trying to wean me off prednisone because it makes me susceptible to viral and bacterial infections. In the past year I have also been stung by a bee (allergic) and sprained my knee, which turns out to have bone-on-bone osteoarthritis. I hobble ( Read more... )

There was a tornado about 20-30 miles away from my home last week. It hit a small town and damaged/destroyed a few buildings, but no one was hurt. This sort of thing happens around here every few years, and nobody has been hurt in a tornado in several decades. The reason we don't get many tornadoes around here is because I live in OREGON. Yesterday when I was on the way home from grocery shopping, I saw a rare and beautiful sight. There was a double rainbow that completely circled the sun. It was a big circle and had very intense coloring. It was on the front page of the local paper today, but in black and white, so it didn't show up very well. I'm still out here. The reason I haven't posted in quite a while is because I'm on my third burst and taper of increased steroids since November to try to control the activity of my RA. My feet hurt so much that standing and walking is painful, and also my left hip hurts so much taht sitting in a hard chair for just 20 minutes gets really painful. ( Read more... )

I just got a bit of disturbing news.  Do you remember the disappears of Brooke Wilberger about five years ago.  He was recently captured in Arizona for a similar kidnap and rape, only the woman got away.  Part of his plea agreement was that he tell where Wilberger's body could be found (so he could avoid the death penalty).  It was about 500 yards ( Read more... )
