Can I just remark on how uncharacteristic it is to have someone not add an umlaut to a German word in a case where it's actually required? It's like a perverse form of hyperhypercorrection. Or perhaps a metacommentary on the perversity of Udemans? (Who was surely a klootzak rather than an Arschloch in any case.)

It's definitely a metacommentary. You can read my distress in my failure to write German. Which I used to be able to do before this Dutch got into my head.

I already have as many confused, multi-culti babies as I can handle. I've actually had to instate a rule with my youngest that she must speak English at home, something I never thought would happen.
