Films/movies.

I'm playing catch up with "movies I should have seen but am embarrassed to admit I haven't", and movies I watched so long ago that I've forgotten what happened. I have a terrible memory, it's quite embarrassing. Recently, I watched The Breakfast Club for the first time (awesome!). I'm trying to form a list to work my way through, and I'm drawing ( Read more... )

films, movies

You need to watch the original of The Wicker Man. I ordered the book version of it for Waterstone's (I'm in charge of the horror section in my store & any other crap I feel needs to be ordered to bulk out any of the other ranges haha).

I can't face watching the Nic Cage remake of the Wicker Man, because I love the original film so much

You have to watch The Lost Boys if you haven't already, cheesy 80s vampire goodness with Kiefer Sutherland. Oh & if we're talking Kiefer then Stand By Me too (based upon Stephen King's novella 'The Body' - don't worry, it's not horror).

Hmmm, must sees. lorcas_novena February 28 2010, 19:12:28 UTC
Wicker Man, strangely not hilariously bad. Something genuinely eerie about it all. The Producers is one of my favourite comedies along with Airplane and loads of Woddy Allen films (the original, not the strange, musical remake of the Producers)

I know a lot of people think Life is Beautiful undermines the seriousness of the holocaust but I think it's fantastic. The Shawshank Remdemption (know you've almost certainly seen it) but it's one I can watch over and over. The Trench was really good, most war films sensationalise ridiculously, but this was really subtle but excellent.

At the moment my favourite film by a mile is In the Loop. everyone in the world should see it :)

I thought you were talking about the remake, and I was going to have to question you :P Those clips just look... wow. So bad. And The Shawshank Redemption is an excellent film, I've seen it a few times now. I'll research The Trench and In the Loop, too, thanks!

NB: do not watch all the die hards in one go. I was so pumped when I did all I wanted to do was push old ladies over.

And I wish I was joking when I say pumped enough to push! Just thinking about it gets me pumped. You need to add Top Gun to your list too.

I only saw the Wicker Man this weekend. It was unsettling. The Nicholas Cage remake is embarrassingly horrible, just watch the original.
