Hey everybody, this post is gonna really suck, since I'm just doing a general check in to prove to everybody that I'm still alive, if eaten alive by mosquitos. :P

Wow, you're doing such awesome and inspiring work, Helen! You rock. Isn't it going to be hurricane season soon? What will happen then if nothing has been fixed (levees and such)? I just signed a petition by Sen. John Edwards to make the govt deliver on its promises to rebuild New Orleans. Sadly, that's my main contribution. You are my hero!

Well, you can draw the logical conclusion. there's a "new and improved" version of the Industrial Canal levee (the one that broke and flooded the lower 9th ward so bad), but it's flimsy and about 8 feet high. Mmmyeahno. And we're *in* hurricane season, that started in June. So we'll see.

And hey, every bit helps, right? I'm all for people round the country doing their bit to pressure the Democrats, and hell anybody in the gov't, to do their job. :P

Glad to hear from you, m'dear. I hope you get the social worker job, but I got no advice because I've only done a couple job interviews ever and that was just for high school and village jobs. :P Much sympathy and good vibes heading your way!

Actually, the McDonald's is in Magazine street, which is this really rich yuppie part of town where tourists go, and was hardly affected by the flooding. La. :P And the floor? I contend is more comfortable than the cots, since the carpet's pretty plush actually.

(Sorry I haven't called back yet--I've been dithering around, not sure what time of day would be best, when obviously the solution to that is to call and *leave a fracking message*--and also I'm working evenings now, but--eh. Heya heya! Well, if you hate phones, what time would be good to call *you*? Since you live at home I was wary of calling late and all to your house phone, and since you said you don't actually use or turn on your cell, well...:P As to the visiting- how far are you from NO, actually?

Trippage-wise- I think we need to organize this ahead of time so I can ask for time off, since the August 29th commemoration is coming up and I'm expecting work to steadily increase, yanno? So if we do anything, it'll have to be this weekend or the next one (next one most likely). So yeah. CALL ME OR TELL ME WHEN TO CALL YOU. You have my cell, right? Oh not too shabby. I'm taking a trip down to Los Angeles in a couple weeks, hanging out with Meagan, and playing on a game show, so that should be fun. After that I need to try harder to find work so I don't run out of money by the end of August. Although I'll prolly win a bazillion bucks or something on the game show, so I'm not too worried. ;0)
