I have read, a few times, that castle keeps don't have stairs in them from the first floor to the second floor for defence reasons. Okay, it's a good idea. What I can't find is how the heck to they get to the second floor. One of my main characters was exploring a highly strategic castle, when I remembered that little conundrum.
