Our sweet girl Sable passed away early this morning at home. We were hoping to make it to her 20th birthday on May 5, but she chose to go to the Rainbow Bridge on her own time.

Thank you so much. She really was a sweetheart. She was a giant cuddlebug in her old age :-)

Oh dear, I'm so, so sorry. What a wonderful friend you had, and what treasured memories you'll have always.

Thanks so much. I told myself I would get through the day okay today, but then our other cat Butternut got to walk through the bedroom where Sabey slept (where Butternut wasn't allowed) and she was looking for her. Ugh.

This post was full of so much love and such sweet stories, I literally teared up, Sable was an utterly beautiful girl (I still can't believe how much she looks like Mom's midnight, who lived to be 22). I love that her table pets were on a schedule, lol! And she loved butt spankings - papa bear did too and now Hiccup does. Sable sounds like she was affectionate, friendly, loving, silly, demanding and with one of those almost human-like personalities that some cats just seem to have. I bet on day you'll come across a whole secret stash of hair ties somewhere in your apartment and it'll bring you joy. RIP beautiful Sable. Hugs to you n L, darling.

I guess black cats must have long lives :-) I so much wanted to get to her 20th birthday. We were going to have a party and everything, and I was going to find her a little birthday hat ( ... )

Thanks, babe. L and I are just both out of sorts this morning, and we're both constantly tearing up and crying over little things, like when L put her laptop backpack on the bed. She would never do that before because Sabey would climb on top of it and scratch on it, LOL. But this morning she could put the bag there for the first time in years, and we both started crying.

Everything is awful and painful right now.
