TV things

I enjoyed the season finale of Supernatural with a few exceptions. I guess they should put Sam in jeopardy more often because it's the best acting Padalecki has done in a while. He was very, very good in the final scene. This season has been the first that's worth a re-watch in a long time, if you ignore the bizarre Amelia storyline that was OOC ( Read more... )

That's exactly how I felt about Hannibal. I watched the first fifteen minutes of the premiere, and went no further. The murders felt too glamorized and romanticized for me to tolerate.

I think the guy playing Will is interesting and would like to watch it for him alone. The show is created by Bryan Fuller, who has made some of favorite series ever, like Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies. But this...I couldn't get over how they seem to make it squirmingly disgusting on purpose. *Especially* the murder scenes. It's just too much.

I tried to watch it again to see Gillian Anderson, and I suggested my GF watch with me, but we only got a few moments in to that episode when the bodies filleted like fish popped up on screen, and she told me to turn it off. I agreed with her.

I just saw Elementary yesterday, so I'll be curious to hear your reaction. (Tomorrow, I'm off to see Star Trek, heh.)

I AM SO IMPATIENT. My GF doesn't get back until Monday, and even then I don't know if we're going to get a chance to sit down and watch. It's kind of killing me.

Whoo, we watched it tonight! I'm sure the book fans were pissed off at the plot twist, but I really enjoyed it. I'm kind of sad Moriarty won't be back though. The finale was awesome.

I was a little disappointed myself. I figured Moriarty would be a woman (Watson's a woman, why not the arch nemesis) but I thought they wrote her rather poorly. I mean, essentially, her undoing was that she fell in love with Holmes. Of course, he got over her well enough. It was a twist that pretty much aimed at the cliche level, imo. I guess they wanted to get rid of her quickly. It's too bad. Moriarity should have remained his equal all the way through, even if it meant 'she got away'.

Ahh, you do need to see the Elementary finale! I ended up watching that before the SPN finale (just due to schedule) and I really enjoyed it. SPN was far more "meh" (I haven't had time to write anything up yet).

Just watched the Elementary finale! I thought it was really, really good. It could have served as a series finale if it wasn't coming back next season. Jonny Lee Miller is such fun to watch, too, LOL. I'm constantly watching his twitchy hands.

I really enjoyed the season finale of SPN quite a lot, considering I don't have as much emotional attachment to that show as I used too. I agree with you that season 8 has been better overall than the two previous seasons and other than the Amelia storyline which felt very out of place - and on a personal note because I am just tired of it: all the angst and drama between the brothers which just feels overdone to me - season 8 really brought me back to being interested in what will happen next. I am both highly excited about where they are going with Cas and also very nervous that they are going to fuck it up. (I've been waiting for so long for him to Fall dammit!) and I also think the angels all falling to Earth is a good overall story plot for season nine's emotional character moments to ride out on. One solid A Plot is always a good thing for this show ( ... )

Sorry, this is not about any of the shows I watch so I didn't read it. Um... Warehouse 13, anyone? New series of Doctor Who?
