Hell on Wheels Season 2 finale

I know maddiec24 watches Hell on Wheels...does anyone else? There's too many things to watch on Sunday nights, so I have to catch up via On Demand. I will admit the show is sometimes uneven and the plotting is meandering, but damn is this one of the best shot shows on TV. From the beautiful plains of Alberta to the mountain vistas to the dirt, filth, and ( Read more... )

I just finished watching this. First off, this season - - which started off okay - - seems to have veered off course for me. I kept feeling like I missed something somewhere. There's been some OOC stuff, too.

I don't fully understand the Swede's motivation for all this - - he seemed very OOC(even considering he's a crazy mf) to me. I understand that he hates Cullen and wanted revenge, but as you say, way over the top.

And Lily... this is almost a deal breaker for me. Like you, I kept waiting for her to... do something! She's always been such an awesome character, and she goes down like this?

All I can think is, maybe they were thinking they might not be renewed, and said the hell with it?

BTW, what was up with Ruth and Sean? That seemed to come out of nowhere for me.

And Cullen... why didn't you just shoot him? You know he's coming back now.

Lily was such a unique female character on the show, a woman who wasn't defined by the men around her. We can overlook the fact that her taking up after her husband would never have happened in the real West. I can go with what they were portraying here. She was so strong and independent and refused to bow down to how she was supposed to behave as a "lady" of the time. They were really fleshing her out, and the idea that she was willing to oversee the railroad when Durant was arrested was awesome. I was looking forward to that ( ... )

Yeah, it was pretty meandering plotwise and they couldn't figure out what to do with it. It's funny to think it all started with Cullen wanting to get revenge on the people that killed his wife and son, and then all of a sudden they completely forgot about that plot and move on to just building the railroad.

I knew Durant wanted to kill her (because his wife didn't like her? What?) but I didn't think they would go so off course and have a random act of violence be her fate. Whatever the reason was the Swede did it, revenge against Cullen or whatever, I thought it was poorly plotted.

Haven't seen anything else he's been in. I thank goodness for captions when I watch, though. Mount is a mumbler like crazy.

As far as I recall, she had sex with him and then rejected him because he was an Indian. He wanted to marry her but she said she couldn't. It was basically the same thing she did with Irish Brother 1 With The Fake Accent, in that she lead them on and then dumped him
