Well, in spite of the weather, I made it home alive today.  I ended up getting to work about 20 minutes early this morning because traffic actually co-operated fairly well, so I decided to leave work early.  That was a really good thing, because when I was within half a mile of the interstate exit I get off on to go home (so about five minutes from ( Read more... )

I thought you guys were into Summer???

What a hell of a way to end the week, oops, that'd be tomorrow for you wouldn't it :)

WOW! Sounds like you're working with all the movers and shakers or money makers of the day.
I knew the right job was out there waiting to snap you up.

YAY!! For jeans!

Now you have to tell me, what kind of car are you driving??

This is our summer weather--blazing hot in the day, then a thunderstorm that lowers the temp thirty degrees in a few minutes, like today. Rinse. Repeat.

I drive a Toyota Corolla, so a small-ish sedan. My parents complain about her because she's too low to the ground for their knees to be able to easily fold down into her.

aah, you got caught in that downpour too? I had to load groceries in it, which was NOT FUN.

but I know what you mean - I think i'm at least passingly familiar with the area you're talking about, and it is sort of upscale, isn't it?

have fun at work tomorrow!

Yes, I was trying to gather all my bags and get out of the car to run into the house while in a skirt and heels. Not fun.

Yeah, it's the upscale area, where the stadium is and the museums and stuff. Pretty posh, but a bit of a pain.

keep flipflops in your car for situations like this?

No, but it wouldn't have mattered. I had on hose and the only flip-flops I own cost about fifty bucks and are leather, so I wouldn't wear them in the rain. Fortunately, it was only about five feet to get into the garage from my car, and I did have an umbrella. Of course, during all this, while I'm trying to get all my stuff from the backseat without getting out of the car and then opening the back door, I accidentally press one of the lock/unlock buttons on my key, and the car starts this constant beeeeeep until I can shut the door, which I can't do because my arm holding the umbrella is already out!
