What a coincidence. I (finally) watched the first episode last night. My friend who's completly nuts about it has been bugging me about it forever and she finally sat me down to watch it together.

You managed to pinpoint some of my favorite moments ^^

and for a second there, I thought I was in love.
That was exactly what I told my friend a couple of minutes in. I have the rest planned for tomorrow and I'm so looking forward to it (although everyone keep saying that 02 isn't as good as 01 & 03).

It sounds like the series grabbed you right fromn the start! :-) Do let me know what you think when you've watched the next two eps, too. (And eeek, you probably shouldn't have read this yet - now I've spoiled you!!)

Finally! Livejournal's working again.

I watched the last two episodes on Monday like I had planned but when I went to comment LJ was down...

I loved the rest too, but I agree with both you and my other friends that 02 was the weakest of them. There seemed to be much less interaction between Sherlock and John in that episode. I kept thinking that had I ony watched 02 I would probably have liked it more but in comparison to the awesomeness that was 01 it didn't stand a chance. I will probably re-watch the whole thing in the foreseeable future and I can't wait for the new episodes.

I spent the night before yesterday with a friend watching, among other things, Granada's Sherlock Holmes. Have you seen it? I really liked the episodes we managed to watch. (Although I couldn't help but thinking what an amazing Snape Jeremy Brett would have been ^^)

Episode 2 is widely recognised to be the weakest of the bunch. It was certainly my least favourite. They're shooting the second series now and I cannot wait for it to air. Hopefully it won't be too much of a wait!

(Argh, LJ. Argh.)

I'm definitely on board for the next season - even though I really hope they take John back into a less bland, more interesting direction, so he can be a match for Sherlock the way he was in ep1. (And yes, I will now always be bitter that they missed the chance to have John be Moriarty. That would have been glorious.)

It would have been quite epic, but Steven Moffat is a massive Conan Doyle fan and he's trying to stick as close to the canon as possible. Updated and modernised, sure. But not changed.

Also, John's not quite intelligent enough to be Moriarty. Although, I suppose it could be argued that he was playing dumb to lure Sherlock into a false sense of security.
