Adopt-a-WIP

Jan 08, 2011 17:06

There ought to be a place to put up abandoned WIPs for adoption. I've been going through my old story folders, and there are so many unfinished stories that I still like the idea of very much, but will never finish...*

Cut for longish list of abandoned WIPs... )

tokyo babylon, eroica, harry potter, weiss kreuz, once a thief, x 1999, x-files, highlander, writing, other fandoms, supernatural, smallville, due south, wip amnesty

There ought to be a place to put up abandoned WIPs for adoption. You don't know me from Adam, but I was doing a Google search for something, and this post came up in the number one spot. Since I had an answer for your first comment, I thought I'd butt in.

There are two sites for abandoned WiPs that I know of, both are multifandom. The first, and the one with the larger membership base, is adopt_a_wip, the second is finish_my_fic. I don't follow them myself, so I don't know how helpful they are, they are just sites I've stumbled across through other searches. I hope they can help you, though.

Btw, I'd love to read your Smallville one. What a great idea - the alien gets abducted by aliens. Fantastic! The Supernatural one sounds amazing, too.

Good luck with all your writing.

Oooh, that's cool - so such a place does exist! I will certainly check those comms out, thank you very much!

Now I am curious what kind of google search could have turned up this post. But whatever it was, I am grateful it did! :-)

Btw, I'd love to read your Smallville one. What a great idea - the alien gets abducted by aliens.

It was planned as a "Clark is the advance scout of an alien invasion force" thing, where Clark - the better to gather info and not be a security risk - has no idea of his purpose. The other aliens come to pick him up and suck the gathered intel out of him, basically.

The Supernatural one sounds amazing, too.

I've even written quite a bit of that one... but then, unfortunately, I lost my passion for the fandom. :-/

So frustrating, because I always write stories I want to read, so when they're not finished, I can't read stories that I really want to read!!
