Grumping about Daredevil S2 (warning: may harsh squee)

Am finally slowly approaching the final eps of Daredevil's second season, and my overwhelming feeling about it is...

I am not sure whether to bother with this season after my meh-ness abut the first. It's just soooo gloooomy. I did love Karen in season 1, though, and their Foggy is pretty good. But Matt is not the Matt I know from comics. Ben Affleck did a better job of being the Matt I know from the comics. He did at least have some humour and attitude amid the gloom, and less cloying vulnerability. This show just doesn't feel like Daredevil.

(Plus the violence and racial stereotypes annoyed me, and the general sense that I was supposed to be sympathetic toward Wilson Fisk, however well he was acted.)

Yeah... it's a kind of grimy single-note gloominess that is honestly just rather boring to me. Meh
