My unofficial NaNoWriMo project was meant to be a steamy m/m romance without much plot. 25k in, the guys haven't properly met and there has hardly even been any flirting. Instead, there is a bunch of worldbuilding and an alarmingly increasing amount of plot and, just, what? How did this happen

That's good to know! :-) I hope a slow start includes the kind of start where there's no sign of any kind of impending romance at all..

I've been worrying that readers in it for the slash might be impatient to get that part of things going, while readers in it for the fantasy might be unhappy with the later prevalence of m/m... But there has to be some kind of overlap between those two reader groups, surely? I should probably just stop worrying and start writing again. *g*

Wohooooooooooooo, go for it! Don't drop the steamy m/m, don't worry about readers - you can't please them all. Just tell the story as it develops. It sounds perfect to me! I love my porn with lots of plot. ^_~

Telling the story as it develops really is the best option. If it comes to that, I can always go back and change it afterwards. I can't please every reader, but I do want to please some - myself, at the very least! :-)

I am very glad to hear it! :-) I'm just nervous things will end up unbalanced... but there actually is no point in worrying about this now. I will just have to write the entire thing and see how it works out. *g*
