When PWP means Porn What Porn.

My unofficial NaNoWriMo project was meant to be a steamy m/m romance without much plot. 25k in, the guys haven't properly met and there has hardly even been any flirting. Instead, there is a bunch of worldbuilding and an alarmingly increasing amount of plot and, just, what? How did this happen ( Read more... )

I think you should write what works for the story, what makes you happy, and not worry about who your audience is or how to pigeonhole your story or whether there is an audience.

If you write a good story, there is always an audience who will love a story that you loved writing.

All excellent advice! I'm not entirely certain I *am* writing a good story, which is rather the issue, but you are absolutely right thst I should just write what seems to work for now and try not to worry. At least not until later. That's what editing is for. :-)

I do love some good porn _with_ plot - while a nice PWP can be ... well, nice, it's the long stories with plot that I reread.

I'd prefer for the plot and the porn to be a bit more mingled with each other than they are at present (not that any porn has made an appearance yet), but hey, I'm running with it for now. ;-) The good part is that it seems most readers aren't as impatient to get to the porn as I'd assumed - at least judging by my representative survey! *g*
