I received two large bags of yarn today, when I went over to cortejo's. One seems to be all alpaca! The other is mostly acrylics, Bernat and Red Heart. I'll count it and check the colors but it is quite the bargain especially for newer knitters! Also alpaca are cute and awesome. I kissed one once. I'll post more details when I check out the yarn in ( Read more... )

I'll try to hunt down that blue wool yarn. I have a couple of pieces of Indian fabric to donate, as well. We should try to meet up soon and I'll give you everything.

Awesome! Thanks :)

I work downtown near the Rideau Center, so I can meet people at lunch or around 4pm if they have donations or want to browse the goods :)

*pouts* I thought you were going to post more details about the alpaca kissing.....

Tired? Yes. A bit buzzed on amaretto sours? Certainly. On an excited high about a new job title? Most definitely. I've been celebrating and I wanna hear about the alpaca kissing!!! *pouts more* :-)

Seriously, though, great idea and I wish you well in the fund raising!

There were pics, unfortunately they were on my ex's server and have all been taken down. The original post is here though. I don't know if sugarmommaless has any pics of my sweet alpaca fling. Juan! How I've missed you!

Hate to say this: No pic..... At least not that I can see. Reading through the comments, though, I think I'm able to come up with one of my own.

*shudders*

*searches for that bottle of mind bleach around here somewhere*

LOL!!

Question that's only somewhat related:
Do you know if it's possible to give to MSF without using a credit card? I'd like to make a donation, but I only recently applied for one and don't have it yet.

I can take cash donations in person, and I'm sure you could send them cash or a cheque. Check there website :)

Cheques aren't an option for me, and I'm not about to mail cash. I guess I won't be giving to them anytime soon.

keep in mind that MSF has request donations be made to their general emergency fund, rather than the haiti fund. They are actually a bit swamped with Haiti donations, but the emergency fund has suffered as a result.

I'm glad you got the yarn. I dropped it off on one of those "dash around like your a** is on fire" days and didn't even ring the doorbell.

=)
