stash sale for haiti update

Feb 05, 2010 23:43

I received two large bags of yarn today, when I went over to cortejo's. One seems to be all alpaca! The other is mostly acrylics, Bernat and Red Heart. I'll count it and check the colors but it is quite the bargain especially for newer knitters! Also alpaca are cute and awesome. I kissed one once. I'll post more details when I check out the yarn in detail. If any of these yarns interest you let me know!

I have set up a DONATION PAGE on the Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontiers site so people can donate directly if they don't want to give me cash. It's actually easier for me that way too, but I'll do whatever works for you!

Here is the blurb I wrote for the MSF page:

Stash Sale for Haiti

A yarn sale to benefit MSF Emergency Fund to help Haiti disaster victims. Contact Louis/Alex to donate spare yarn, or to buy from the stash sale. All procedes will go to MSF's emergency fund. Alex will be attending various crafting groups to trade yarn for donations. It's a great way to either get rid of some stash or buy some new yarn and have the money go somewhere it is needed.

I have also created a Ravelry account to track all the donated yarn. It's called "stashrelief"! So if you're on Ravelry you can go and look at the stash here. I will updated it as best I can.

One small note for donated yarn, unless it is handspun please only send full balls, preferably still with labels. Even if the labels are on the side. People don't want mystery yarn!
