That's a great idea! Alas I wish I had some craft stuff to give you. If I see you before you send off the money, I'll see about giving you some $. I meant to give some to Miss Lydia but I had brain fail.

There are a bunch of amazing auctions, exchanges, bribes and other stuff like this at Ravely right now. LSG has raised over 37K just from random stuff.

I'd be happy to donate some stash.

I'm trying to do things local to keep it a zero cost event. That way all the money spent goes to the charity instead of to postage or hall rentals or food or whatever. If you have crafty friends, maybe you could have them over for tea and charity swapage?

That is an awesome idea... I wish I could be there to help with it. I wont be home until March. Maybe I can suggest it to the pagan store...

A book sale would be cool too. Or jewelry... My friends are crafties, so craft stash works for me. I think having it in small groups in people's homes makes a big difference. Because it's a fun get together with a bit of fundraising. Also we know each other, so we feel safer than if we'd be canvassed by a stranger on the street or phone or internet. We know the money will get there. And we don't have to fight hordes or yell at public auctions or what-have-you.

Very good points. I just know the pagan store here in Eugene is a place were the pagan community gets together. It's a small place so it would kinda be like doing it at someone's house. I don't have all the resources I would if I was back in Ottawa which sucks for things like this.

ooh! I have some really nice leftover wool yarn I could donate! I used one whole ball less than I thought I needed for the one and only thing I ever knitted :P

I wish I could take credit for it, but alas, it is stolen.

Oh! Oh! and if you let me know when the event will be, I can try and get some fabric scraps from India. They line the correspondence from New Delhi and Chandigarh with it (I recommend washing before use, though).

Well, I'm not concerned over who buys it, as long as the money goes to the right place. Also, once you have the details sorted out, I encourage you to contact CBC, who are keeping a list of local fundraising events on their website here.

I'll go hunting for the yarn so I have it handy when the time comes to drop off my donations.
